Return from Reno

We just got home from a trip to Reno, where we stayed at one of our  favorite casinos, the Atlantis.  They may have the best variety of good video poker anywhere in the country.  Whatever denomination or format you prefer, you will probably find a machine that fits your requirements.

There is a lot to like at the Atlantis besides the gaming.   The personnel are very friendly and give unusually warm service in all departments.  There is a good variety of restaurants, with their deli being our very favorite.  The spa offers an extensive menu of services.  And we love their pools.  In the summer we enjoyed the outdoor one, but on this visit, the nicely heated indoor one was the perfect relaxation spot after a long session at the machines.

We expect Reno to give us a cool break from the Vegas heat in the summer, and, of course, we expected it to be much colder than Vegas in December.  We packed our heavy winter jackets, but to our surprise we didn’t need them at all.  In fact, the day we arrived it was warmer there than when we left Vegas – and it was unseasonably warm the rest of our visit.

We had a great time being a “tourist,” a relaxing change from our normal schedule here in Vegas. But it is always good to get back home!

We were there about a year and a half ago at the Atlantis casino. We agree with your comments. Everything was wonderful. I would recommend a side trip to Lake Tahoo and make arrangements for the hot-air balloon ride. We met a Mother and daughter, and it was on the Mother’s bucket list. She was in her late 80s. Also, Sharon and I met you at the Windsor casino a few years back. We went to all of your presentations. Keep up the good work.

The Atlantis is popular with the locals and now has my vote for best vp and prime rib in all Nevada. The video poker is like Vegas vp in the early nineties. While the slots and vp were good , this so-cal guy is going back there really thinking of the prime rib.

Dittos for the Peppermill too, just down the street. They have everything that the Atlantis has, except for possibly the indoor pool. Simply luxurious, and they’ve spared no expense.
