I love the spirit and comments from Beverly.
We have to enjoy life while we are well enough to enjoy it, and Vegas is one place to go and forget that any medical stuff that has gone on could be forgotten for a while.

We get to be in Vegas with great food, great weather and great gaming experiences.
We absolutely need to include GREAT frugal advise that never “Stays in Vegas”.

I’m really surprised that you and Brad hadn’t been to the El Cortez in so many years. For quite a while, it was the home of several of Vegas’s best frugal plays. Not any more, of course. Maybe some of those plays, being at the .25 level and such, were beneath your purview?

I agree with other respondents that there is a time when the cost of an experience should no longer be a deterrent. I’m not at death’s door yet (I hope), but I have begun to realize that life is finite and limited and that the only thing that will matter at the end is my accumulated experiences. Or to put it another way, I doubt that I’ll say on my deathbed, “Gee, I wish I’d played more video poker!”

Uber or Lyft definitely the way to go! They also send occasional discounts. United Healthcare Medicare advantage is now using lYft for its 24 free one way rides to doctors appointments unless you need a van for a wheelchair. I am using that instead of Paratransit a lot. Paratransit will also drop you off and pick you up door to door for $3 each way. Companion $3 too unless you can sign up one as the helper for other. Another good way for us slightly older folks to go. Check out Paratransit in any city.
