wynn/encore have changed a lot of the machines. these are the changes they have maded between my april 2011 trip and the sept trip. there are no more 5 cent machines or at least i did not see them. also they have reduced the number of games on the machines and done away with bp dp ddp. now you have a choice of playing jb tddbp or dwp on a lot of the 5 dollar machines. you almost have to hunt the bp ddb games on the 5 dollar machines. we did better playing at the M and southpoint. we are planning a april 2012 trip and have not decided if we will stay at the wynn/encore because of the changes they have made to the vp machines.

i have visited vegas 3 times this year and stayed at the wynn/encore. since my stay in april i have not received any mailers or offers. all though the september ( 20-24)trip was not a winner. i was not made aware of the changes to the red card program. but i was still comp my room in the tower suites and all my meals via my host plus garth tickets. the machines seemed tighter or at least they where for me and my wife. with that said i am still ahead for the year and looking forward to my 2012 trips there.

Just as I remarked before, the vast majority of the time, when a casino announces "improvements" to its slot club, that's code for "we just made it a lot worse for the player." They manipulate the math in the hope that the average player is too stupid to understand things like multiplication, division, and decimals. That's probably a very sound assumption.

My local casino made a "big change to our slot club" last year. "NOW YOUR POINTS ARE WORTH TWICE AS MUCH AS BEFORE!!!!!" their ads trumpeted. Yes, it was true--a point was now worth twice as much. It also took exactly twice as much coin-in to earn a point as before. Existing point balances were cut in half, so yes, your points were now worth twice as much--but we took half of them away. So the net benefit was exactly zero. I don't even know why they bothered.
