You know how it is. Gone a week. Come back to a pile of mail to process – especially at the end of the month with all those casino offers to put on our June calendar. We got a couple of shockers – super promotions from casinos we had washed our hands of months ago. Although some locals casinos are cutting back on free play and bonus days, a few seem to be thinking that maybe some good offers might get back those customers they had driven away earlier. Hey, I don’t hold grudges. You send me a good offer and/or put in better-EV video poker and I’ll come back into your arms…at least as long as you show me some love.
So with a more complex June calendar to figure out, I will have to delay a followup to my recent 15-year report, responding to some of your comments and questions. Keep them coming and I will address them here in my next entry.
In the meantime, I’ll leave you a photo that gives the reason for our latest trip east: Granddaughter Kaitlynn’s graduation from high school. Her intense academic dedication makes us so proud – in the Top Ten of her graduating class of 366. And that same intense dedication to sports is providing her the opportunity to attend Columbus State University in the fall on a cross-country athletic scholarship. The daily training for that has already started. The day before we left, she had someone drive her 7 miles from home and she ran back. And the mile requirement will just keep increasing all summer long.

Kevin, keep dreaming. You never know when some of your dreams might materialize 🙂

Jean, which casinos have sweetened their offers to you? I see this on occasion myself, when a casino whose doorstep I have not darkened for a long, long time sends me something so attractive I can’t ignore it. A friend told me this often happens when a new host takes over, and also when there’s an ownership change of some kind. In fact, for some casinos, absence makes their hearts grow fonder. Maybe that’s because if you do play there regularly, they figure they’ve got you hooked and don’t have to waste any promo expense getting you in there. For instance, South Point has been treating me like I was a radioactive leper ever since I threw in 80K coin-in last February. I played at anothar locals’ casino, a total of about 3K of action, and they sent me an offer for $8,000 free play, a month in a suite, $10,000 food credit, and daily Swedish massages by showgirls.
