From an official CZR notice: “…in response to the increasing demand from our guests…”
I’m looking for the two “guests” who “demanded” that Caesars start charging a resort fee. Maybe one is at home nursing a dry socket after he demanded that his dentist do an unnecessary root canal. Or, perhaps one is busy in his basement digging through a filing cabinet for old documents because he demanded that the IRS do an audit on the last 5 years of his tax returns. Or, perhaps one of them is busy on his computer researching his next vacation, trying to find a cruise ship that has experienced engine trouble on past sailings.
Or, maybe they are both in an asylum?
I know a number of gamblers that went to Nassau 3 or 4 x a year to the 2 casinos. Both now have a resort tax and a maid tax. Vegas and Tunica now place of choice.
I will be staying off the Strip in a Locals property that doesn’t charge this STINKING fee. It is like paying protection money to the Mafia.
The off strip casinos like my money as much or more than the Caesars properties.
Very funny, Jean. I suspect it were folks addicted to confusion in booking.
Are diamond cards excluded?
Does my comped room get charged?
Will they drop it if I play enough and smile at my host?
What was the booking date deadline again? March 1?
Will Holly Madison save her No Resort fees T shirt for when her baby girl grows up?
Many, many questions still left in confusion.
QZ got it right. To rework an old joke, how do you know Caesar’s hosts and representatives are lying to you?
THEIR LIPS ARE MOVING!
I too am in shock. We make 2 trips per year and always stay at a Harrah’s property. This year we are foregoing our annual summer Vegas trip so we can go visit Vegas for NYE. This is on my bucket list of things to do!! Last week I called to book my room and was floored over this new fee!!! I guess they are jumping on the resort fee bandwagon because Bellagio, Venetian and nearly all the other properties in Vegas have been gauging consumers for years. Who visits Vegas to read a newspaper or go to the gym anyway? Not me!!! I go for the shows, gaming, restaurants and more gamining and more gaming!!! Let’s face it, do they really need to generate more revenue on top of all the gambling money they bring in??????
Actually since I travel on business and use my AMEX Platinum card I will get extra points now if I stay at Caesars properties! I may be one of the two people! Except that given the last time I conducted a meeting at Bally’s their was a water leak and the ceiling fell into my meeting room! They did nothing about it nor for me, a Diamond player at the time. I now hold the staus of Dirt with CZR. I don’t play there, stay there nor recommend anybody do any business with them. They can charge whatever they want, it doesn’t affect me at all. Bally’s and their useless convention people lost mu business for life. Plus they absolutely hate advantage video poker players so why think about going in there anyway?
Who cares? There are other Casinos that do not charge fees. Excluding the Fees I want to stay at a Casino where there is good food at reasonable prices , full pay VP and some good entertainment. If enough people would complain and not go to Casinos maybe they would do something. BTW we have a taxi strike and people still get ripped off with most of the taxi drivers going to the Casinos the longer way.
Perhaps you remember when several years back, Bally’s introduced 6:5 blackjack and advertised on their marquee that they had done so “by popular demand.” Of course! Players are constantly clamoring to have the house edge increased by EIGHT HUNDRED PERCENT. They are constantly begging to be screwed over (which, when you think of it, explains quite a bit about how Vegas casinos have managed to tighten everything up the last few years).
It’s interesting, to say the least, that after years of crowing that they didn’t charge resort fees and how wonderful they were for not ripping people off (in that way, at least), now they’ve decided that it’s OK to rip people off after all. Gary Loveman should be locked in a room at Caesar’s, chained to a chair, and forced to watch reruns of the commercials where His Plumpness told everyone that CET wasn’t like those other evil scumbag casinos that charged resort fees.
This wouldn’t be so disingenuous had CZR/CET/HET/PPE (or whomever they are this week) not spent the last year touting how they are resort-fee-free. They obviously take their customers for morons.
Or their PR department just plain lied.
Glad I never stay at Caesars…Downtown is still the best …We are comped on room , food and even win ….so I will stay where I am at…..and love every minute of it…Have a great day!!!!
Wow…. Somebody forgot to take her meds! Cool.
As for that quote… This is what we back in Missouri call horsesh*t. They are LYING.
Will comped rooms get charged the Resort Fee?
Will Seven Stars players pay the Resort Fee?
Will Diamond players pay the Resort Fee?
Thanks,
Bob B.
Yes I too would like to know who they are…. I believe it is likely from “you stayed with us survey” results. I have filled them out in the past and mentioned free wifi as something I would like to see so maybe I am one of those that “demanded” resort fees…. NOT! They ask what could we do to make your stay better? not what could we do to make your stay better at a fee. I don’t believe at your playing status this will effect you very much (Platinum and higher don’t pay the fees) but it does me for sure. I make one trip to Las Vegas a year and gamble enough to get comped rooms but not enough to get to Platinum status EVER. The closest CET property to my home is still 3.5 hours away with other non CET casinos closer. I know that my few $$$ will not break the bank but unless this changes this year will be my last stay with CET. I get comped rooms w/o resort fees in other properties and they will get my $$$
Exactly what I thought when I first read the news!! Well, not exactly. My thoughts couldn’t be printed. 😉
