Jean, I would have made the trip if I had read the blog earlier. I hope y’all had fun and that the weekend was fantastic. I will keep an eye open for your next trip to Harrah’s. I’ve only been there once 20+ years ago. Gambling in NC is like skiing in NC–dicey!

We sure have fun in casinos, just not in as many as we used to. Luckily, we can still travel to Las Vegas and we enjoy every minute of it! Our casinos of choice have sure changed over the years, but we move along with the pang of sorrow of saying goodbye to an old friend and a surge of joy as we find new places that fit the bill. Jean, hope you have fun at Cherokee! Thank God for wonderful grandchildren!

The impact of AI is that it will be used to selectively exclude anyone who plays halfway decently, let alone at an advantage, from any kind of comps or perks. Jean’s entire VP/gambling career would have been utterly impossible if the casinos had used AI to ferret out those players who didn’t lose.

So can you still have fun? Sure…but they’ll make damn sure that you and everyone else pay for it.

Have fun, and good luck at Cherokee Harrahs, Jean. The wife and I will be spending that time in Laughlin (July 7 and 8) with a comped room/concert (Clay Walker) and then heading to Vegas from July 9th to the 14th, for some low-roller fun with comped room, free play and food credits at the Tuscany Casino.
