Another press release announcing another casino partnership:   MGM Resorts International (NYSE: MGM) has entered into a partnership with eight accomplished veterans on the PGA and LPGA TOURS, dubbed Team M life. The endorsements will result in unprecedented VIP golfing benefits, access, and experiences for members of MGM Resorts’ loyalty rewards program, M life.   New M life Moments include one-on-one interactions with Team M life players such as private dinners and golf lessons so you can impress your friends next time you are out on the course.

Monthly mailings were running late from several casinos.  I hate to start off a blog entry with a rant, but I can’t understand why casinos are so dilatory in their advance planning.  A promotion that ran a day before I got the mailer telling about it does not seem like a good marketing technique.  Casino executives:  EVERY MONTH STARTS ON THE FIRST!

MGM and Thunder Valley Casino Resort have announced a strategic marketing relationship which creates reciprocal benefits for the loyalty programs of both companies. Thunder Rewards members will receive exclusive offers at MGM Resorts destinations in Las Vegas, while MGM Resorts’ M life members will enjoy offers to play and stay at Thunder Valley Casino Resort in Lincoln, Calif.

SLS Las Vegas will become part of the Preferred Hotels & Resorts guest loyalty program,

Pinnacle Entertainment Inc., a casino operator based in Las Vegas (but with no casinos in Las Vegas), has reached a deal with Wynn Resorts Ltd. giving its high rollers access to Wynn Las Vegas and Encore.  Pinnacle owns and operates 18 casinos and two racetracks around the country.

Casino Marketing Partnerships

Cross-marketing has always been a technique used by casinos, but it is really picking up steam these days.  Umbrella companies send offers to customers, not just for their home casinos but for sister – brother? –  properties.  Caesars Entertainment is big on this.  We get invitations to their properties across the country, many we have never visited before.  And this is not happening just within one mother company.

Sorry this report is a little late – I like to give you a heads up by the first of each month.  However, Brad and I just returned home from a 12-day family vacation, in Columbus, GA, and New Orleans so now I am plowing through a tall stack of casino mail to see what promotional goodies I can share.

I imagine many of you will be town December 4-8, using your shopping points at the Great Gift Wrap Up at Caesars Palace.  Brad and I will be there on Saturday and Sunday, the 7th and 8th.  We will likely be playing in the early afternoons in one of the High Limit areas so stop and say “Hi” if you spot us.   I’ll be the one with the antlers!
