Watch for Derby Day promotions this coming first weekend in May.  And then there will be special promotions in many casinos May 8 for Mother’s Day and the 30th for Memorial Day.  A good place to get details on these is at “Today’s News” on the LVA homepage.   In fact every week there is an extensive list of weekend events there.  You never have to be bored in Las Vegas!

Last month I mentioned that one of the best ways to find new plays is to use your usual promotional resources in conjunction with vpFREE2, which is a very comprehensive database of the best video poker games.  Video poker inventory is constantly changing.  I would like to add another detail about this valuable resource:

December is promotion rich – bracketed by the rodeo in town in the beginning and the holiday celebrations at the end.  Here are just a few details but you will need to check out individual casino Websites for the full promotion picture.  Also as usual check out Scot’s list for the many multiplier days.

 

BOYD PROPERTIES (The Orleans, Gold Coast, Suncoast, and Sam’s Town)

Gold Coast has announced they are discontinuing Senior Mondays in 2016.  In our December monthly mailers giving the Senior Bonus Days details, they say “Last Chance to Participate!!”  (They stole my trade-mark exclamation marks!)

Slot Club Changes in the Works

  1. M life players club benefit changes coming to MGM December 15, 2015.
  2. Circus Circus is not a part of M life, but has its own club.  However, they say that they will have a new tier structure at the beginning of 2016.

Earlier I said the newly-opened SLS (Former Sahara property) had already made revisions to their players card, effective June 1, but I didn’t have the details.  Finally they  have appeared on their Website:

SENIOR CASINO PROGRAMS

Most Vegas locals casinos, plus many downtown, have senior days.  Here is a quickie promotional round-up for those of us in our golden years.  This is not a complete list – you should check casino Websites for more.  And I haven’t given many details, since they often change from month to month.  So you need to check individual casino websites often even if you are familiar with the programs.  Almost all senior programs are for ages 50+ and almost all have food discounts.  I have listed some special extra benefits that I thought were more valuable or more unusual.

Note:  A friend gave another idea for waiting near the Las Vegas airport.  He says there is a vacant lot going south on Paradise, just past Trop on the right side, that he uses as his “cell phone lot.”

Last month I talked about the traffic problems you encounter crossing the Strip at Flamingo.  Some have commented that it isn’t as bad as I described.  I do know that it depends on what time a day you try to make this crossing.  But at 6 p.m. on Friday night, I still recommend DI as an alternative!
