DECEMBER VEGAS PROMOTIONS

Hope all of you  had a nice Thanksgiving, celebrating and giving thanks with people in your life that you love.

December is promotion rich – bracketed by the rodeo in town in the beginning and the holiday celebrations at the end.  Here are just a few details but you will need to check out individual casino Websites for the full promotion picture.  Also as usual check out Scot’s list for the many multiplier days.

BOYD PROPERTIES (The Orleans, Gold Coast, Suncoast, and Sam’s Town)

Gold Coast has announced they are discontinuing Senior Mondays in 2016.  In our December monthly mailers giving the Senior Bonus Days details, they say “Last Chance to Participate!!”  (They stole my trade-mark exclamation marks!)

The “Young at Heart” and “Young at Heart after Dark” promotions continue at all four properties through the end of the year.

The “B Loyal to the Royal” promotion continues at the Gold Coast and The Orleans Sunday-Thursday, December 6-31.

The Orleans and Gold Coast both have a one-price all-day pass for their buffets as I reported in past blogs but there is not agreement that you can use them interchangeably – that is, buy one pass and use at both casinos. Some employees said this was possible; others say “absolutely not. You might have better luck using your Orleans pass at the Gold Coast than vice versa. I can’t find any written information about this issue, so all I can say is “you can try it.”

Although November mailers reported that NFR parties were moving from the Gold Coast to the Orleans, in our December GC mailers it mentions that there will be “Live NFR Viewing,” December 3-12, nightly in the showroom from 6:45-9:30 p.m. And then they headline “Best Rodeo After Parties,” showroom entertainment nightly starting at 10 p.m. So who knows where you can see the sexiest cowboys and their fans! You may have to commute back and forth between the Orleans and the Gold Coast to answer this question and where to use your all-day buffet passes. Good thing there is a shuttle you can use if you don’t have a car or you have eaten or partied too much to drive!

El Cortez

Throughout December, Club Cortez players winning a jackpot of $200 or more on a slot machine, a $200 or more jackpot on a video poker five-cent or lower denomination machine, a $300 or more jackpot on a video poker ten-cent or high denomination machine or a $200 or more jackpot on live keno will receive their choice of a free gift card from El Cortez, Wal-Mart, Walgreens, Shell, Chevron, Smith’s or Zappos.com Please see Club Cortez for additional information and to redeem tickets.

TUSCANY

The 20% all-month senior discount travels to room reservation in December.

PALMS

“Play for Prizes” is running as usual Monday through Friday. Play for T.J.Max/Marshalls/HomeGoods gift cards December 7-18.  And hurrah! – play for cash December 21-Jan 1.    Redemption times are the same as usual, Monday through Thursday, 10 a.m.-10 p.m., and Fridays 10 a.m.-midnight.  (Not valid on machines marked as non-promotional.)   Participants keep points; they will not be taken for prize redemption.  Complete rules at the players club.

Here is the usual list for earning the “prizes,” whether it is free play, cash, or gift cards: 5k/50k points (slots/VP) = $100

2500/25000 = $50

1250/12500 = $25

500/5000 = $10

250/2500 = $5

Again, many gift days are offered – every Saturday and Sunday in December plus Dec 31.  To earn the gift-of-the-day, you need 100 base points on video slots or 500 base points on video poker, on that same day between 12:01 a.m. and 6:59 p.m.

“Swipe and Win” on Wednesdays, all month, from 10 a.m.-10 p.m.  Earn 25 points on slots or 100 points on VP for a free swipe.  Win up to $100 in free slot play, food credits, mystery gifts, & more.

Loyalty Club Changes

• SLS Las Vegas and Hilton loyalty program is no longer affiliated.

• Penn National is the new owner of the Tropicana and in the spring they will change the present players club to Marquee Rewards, which is the club at their sister casino,  M Resort.  There is now free shuttle service between the Tropicana and the M Resort. See schedule here.

• Here is an e-mail that was recently sent out to customers who play in Ohio CZR properties:

We are writing to inform you of an upcoming change to the management of Horseshoe Casino Cleveland, Horseshoe Casino Cincinnati and ThistleDown Racino. In mid-2016, Rock Gaming LLC and its affiliates (“Rock Gaming”), which currently own Horseshoe Casino Cleveland, Horseshoe Casino Cincinnati and ThistleDown Racino, will assume the management responsibility of these properties. These three properties are currently managed by subsidiaries of Caesars Entertainment Operating Company, Inc. (“Caesars Entertainment”).

• This means you will keep your Total Rewards® benefits AND you will be receiving additional equivalent benefits in a new program, which will be announced shortly.

• You can continue to earn points, comps and additional perks as usual until the time of transition – equivalent points, comps and tier status held at the time of transition will be granted in the new loyalty program.

• All marketing offers from Horseshoe Casino Cleveland, Horseshoe Casino Cincinnati and ThistleDown Racino will continue to be valid.
