Well gee Ruth, now you know how those of us who are childless feel about kids! No one asked you to stay in a pet room and I’m sure there are plenty of animal parents who will! Hats off to Harrah’s for this innovation although a 50lb weight limit is ridiculous….

This is not a comment but I lost your e-mail address when I got hacked a couple months ago.

Here is my problem:
You are smart, frugal and from IN yet you bought a condo when you retired to Vegas.

Fort Wayne home values are even less than Indianpolis prices. Even with what has happened to Vegas home values we still can not replace our home for what it is worth here.

It seems that the monthly fees on a condo we could pay cash for are almost equal to a mortgage that would put us into a home in Sun City Aliente. How happy are you with your decision to do the condo as opposed to a home?

Do you have any suggestion for where and what to buy?
I know we should probably rent for 6 months 1st. I don’t think home values will change. I do think mortgage rates are going to go up.

BTW Elaine will not retire until 12/17/2011 so maybe we are rushing it a little.

Harrahs really has gone to the dogs. I won’t be staying at those hotels as I have never found a dog friendly hotel to be up to the smell test.

This is a very smart decision of Harrah’s. So many dog lovers will only fiscally support places where their whole family is welcomed, and that includes Fido. I’m sure there is just a section of one floor in one tower dedicated to pet friendly rooms so there will be no “non-pet” people staying in those rooms dealing with any pet issues.
Cater to what I love in life, and you will get my business.

Yuck! It’s hard enough getting a room clean after people are in it, but I can’t imagine that Harrah’s is going to spend the extra time to make sure all the dog hair is vacuumed off the furniture and out of the rugs. And don’t get me started on fleas. I feel sorry for those who have pet allergies too. Now I’m sure that most pet owners are responsible but I do not want to take the chance of getting a room after one that wasn’t. I think this is as bad as having to stay in a smoking room. I won’t be staying at any of these hotels.
