The Queen rides again! I just Googled you to see if there was new updates! I was excited to see the recent update. I read this to my wife and reminder her our last two flights to Vegas were “free.” Just us “losing less.” Thanks to your keen insights. Cherokee is not far from Georgia, but it’s only one casino. Still a welcome change as the scenery is unique, the people are great too. Keep writing and having fun!

Hope ur trip is better than ours was. We had a 3rd floor room and both windows were blocked by a cinder block wall! I found that most machines were pretty tight. I tried a variety of games but they were all about the same. Hopefully the Catawba Indians will give them some competition.

Jean:
Good article; can't wait for part 2. Also, you wrote:
"No pandemic cuts like I’d been hearing about in many Las Vegas casinos."
Can you please elaborate? Thank you.

The South Carolina Tribe of the Catawba Nation are currently clearing land and beginning the infrastructure work for a casino located just off of Interstate 85 at Kings Mountain, NC, about a half-hour's drive west of Charlotte. Why the South Carolina tribe is building in North Carolina is a tale unto itself. The tribe has announced that they plan to be by late fall of 2021. I was by there about two weeks ago and they have a tremendous amount of work to do if they are going to meet that goal. In addition, the Eastern Band of the Cherokee have filed lawsuits against the Catawba, and they are currently in federal court. I find it amusing, and hypocritical, that the very same political figures who so strongly supported the Cherokee in their initial efforts to establish gaming in North Carolina are now so strongly to the Catawba entering the market.
