Host Conference Follow-Up

I had asked you all to give your input about hosts – and did you ever!  Both in the “Comments” and in private e-mails, you gave so much fodder for my presentation today at the host conference.  I mentioned many of your suggestions and used some of your stories – without names, of course – to illustrate what I wanted to convey.  I gave them the “good, the bad, and the ugly.”

Many of the conference attendees talked to me later and said they appreciated so much getting the “other side of the picture.”  So many casino policies are based on “what the casino needs” rather than “what the customers want.”  Many of your comments emphasized that it is not just how many comps you can get but how you are treated.  You want a host that communicates with you promptly, one that listens to you, and one that doesn’t treat you just like a pocket that needs to be picked.
