It isn’t $500–it’s just a stack of green chips, or 500 credits! When I realize that in three hours of dollar VP play, I’m running through enough cash to buy a car, it gives me the proper perspective. Second, I mentally record a video of dealers drawing a 5 to a hard sixteen and swooping all the chips from the layout, casino stickmen hollering “seven out, line away” and my bets being scooped up, and all those horror moments of drawing to AKQJ of hearts and getting the 3 of clubs. We tend to remember all the good stuff. But if you want to keep your gambling under control, you’ll “accentuate the negative.”
