Loving Your Input

Wow!  My last blog entry certainly generated a great discussion in the “Comments” – and I love that.  In fact, this is the very reason why I sometimes allow-to-be-published very negative comments or mention their content.  Being in the public eye for so long, I have had to develop very thick skin – and criticism doesn’t bother me at all anymore.  But I appreciate all your support.

Comments here have a wealth of information in them, and I hope all you readers make it a habit to read them.  Some of the gambling hints you find may put money in your pocket.  And I encourage everyone to join in the discussions.  It is fascinating to read how different types of gamblers use “frugal writings”:  slot lovers and VP aficionados, still-working and retired, frequent local casino visitors and once-in-awhile tourists, novices and old hands, penny punchers to high rollers.  And everyone seems to be working hard on their “comp game,” looking for all the help I can give in this area.

Don’t worry about me retiring – I’ve quit even thinking about it.  Brad and I ARE slowing down some.  We don’t play VP as many hours a week as we used to.  But that leaves me more time to spend in my office at my computer.  So as long as my fingers can navigate a keyboard I ‘spect I’ll keep churning out gambling words.

Thank you for your blog Jean – it’s been very helpful over the years. I’ve never believed in being lucky until last month when I went to Biloxi, MS. I took my elderly handicapped mom and drove all night from Florida to stay at the IP, now owned by Boyd Gaming. We arrived at 5 a.m. — too early to check-in so we headed for the Casino. Within 15 minutes, I hit 4 aces with a deuce ($500) on a quarter machine while sipping Bloody Marys at the Torch Bar. Then a couple of hours later I got a Royal Flush in diamonds at a $1 machine outside the High Limit area for $4000.00 (they took out $120 for the gaming commission and paid me the rest in $100 bills). I was only walking by and something made me stop at the center machine in a row. I put in a $100 bill and had $142 on the machine when two cards to the Royal popped up. I never ever played a $1 dollar machine. It was a great start before even checking in! I ran lucky the whole week and put 48,000 points on a new B-Connected Card. I also played at the Grand, Boomtown and Jimmy Buffet’s new casino. Lady Luck was certainly with me that trip!
