We Californians have had to add the dreaded 1 before the area code for at least 15 years. Not great for one who is number dyslexic. SIGH!

Here in the Chicagoland area we’ve had to do this for years and years. We also have to add a 1 before the area code so we have to dial 11 digits to call our next door neighbor!
