Not really honoring a coupon is a slimy dodge that no casino dared try, because of the ill will that policy engendered--until Stations started doing it. Then it became "acceptable" all over town. The really appalling thing about only applying the coupon to the higher price (what the buffet costs on OTHER days) is ABSOLUTELY ILLEGAL for two reasons. One, it is illegal to charge one customer one price and another customer a different price for the same good or service offered at the same time. That's called "illegal price discrimination." When they say your coupon only applies to a higher price THAT THEY AREN'T CHARGING ANYONE ELSE BUT YOU, that fits the definition. Second, a coupon is an offer, which constitutes a legally binding contract if the offer is accepted (i.e., the customer attempts to redeem the coupon). By changing the conditions stated on the coupon (like a $10-off coupon not really being such because they artificially raise the price the $10 is discounted from), they are committing fraud, pure and simple. But because this is Nevada and the party committing the fraud is a CASINO, such a crime is perfectly OK in the eyes of the "law."
