What about Green Valley Ranch, how is their buffet. I found out, if I went on a lux trip there, at 50X tier points for rooms, $2,000 for a week in a suite, would get me President's Level. So this does seem like a generous system to me, even before I gamble.

I agree with Kevin. I’ve had lunch at the SP buffet three times since the remodeling started. I don’t know if they offer prime rib every day, but all three times I’ve been in, I had very good prime rib. Twice they also had fried shrimp on the menu. Prime rib and fried shrimp for $7.95 is a good deal in my book. When I used my 1/2 off mailer and the remainder in points, it only cost me a little over 1000 points. All I can add is, take your time on the remodeling. “I’ll be back”.

Kevin Lewis I don't like to argue with u but SP Buffet is lousy. Prudence dictates that u close the buffet for 2-3 weeks. Their Buffet was never good. I go to SP to play VP. If u want a GREAT BUFFET ( I should get paid for this ) it's M. I admit a little pricey but worth it. BTW Stations must be laughing all the way to the bank. As I have recently stated One of the Fertitta brothers had a $25 MILLION wedding for his daughterat Red Rock casino.

Charles, first of all, the South Point's buffet still offers everything it always has. As they remodel various sections, they've improvised, for instance setting up omelet stations on a few of the customer tables and setting up salad bar trolley carts. They've done that quite well and there are never any of the usual food offerings missing.

Moreover, they've been offering "hard hat pricing" during the remodel, which is $2-3 off the regular prices. I've also had success in asking at the front desk for the funbook (even if I'm not staying there), which contains a 1/2 off breakfast or lunch buffet coupon.

I don't think their keeping the buffet open during remodeling is being "cheap." They host a LOT of events, such as equestrian and bowling tournaments, that whole families attend. Even when the buffet is open, lines at the two other casual eating options, the coffee shop and Steak N' Shake, are long. Closing the buffet would overwhelm those other two restaurants.

I personally rate the South Point buffet fairly highly for a combination of quality and value. The weekend brunch includes all-you-can-drink mimosas; what's not to like?

I would think that after linking cards a couple could then play only on one card to gain a higher tier faster. Stations lets us play on one card now, but access to the points for both will be GREAT!! Appreciate this piece of info very much. May the royals be with all.

The Palms was always all about millennials and teenies using fake IDs and maxing out Daddy's credit card. It never was meant to appeal to seniors. They seem to have moved away from their initial focus of trying to also be a locals' casino.

As long as the buffet prices remain the same, there will still be at least one reason to go there--but you know those prices will soon skyrocket. Gambling-wise, it's now a wasteland. They don't even have MEDIOCRE video poker now, their promos are near-worthless, and the table game rules are lousy and the limits high. Go there, enjoy the buffet, then walk right back out the door.
