Jean,
I remember you from The Palms and Caesars properties. I worked at both. I moved to Georgia in 2012 to be with my son.
I go to both Harrah's in NC and I never get many comps from them. I agree the food places have really gotten bad.
I go to Pearl River Resorts in Philadelphia, MS. They give lots of free play, free rooms and resort credits. Sometimes I don't play heavy but I still get good comps.
Last week I went and had $400.00 a week free play, free rooms and $300.00 resort credits for the month of Nov. and they gave me a suite.
If you get a chance try and go there. I know it's a long drive around 6 hrs. from Marietta. I don't know what area you are in so it might be longer.
Hope you enjoy Georgia, the medical doctors are much better here then Vegas.
Have a Happy Thanksgiving and a Merry Christmas.

Kevin left A curt comment.
( Our View from another perspective)
We (wife & I) took advice from Jean and did 15 years of upgraded to suites (tip your host) comps.)
Southwest Air and a Rapid rewards credit card got us free trips each 90 days.
We had comp meals, gifts and fun and often won some. ( dealt royals on ten play are fun.)
At the Palms we met Brad and Jean. We were glad to see they were taking the time to ENJOY the casino.
Alas, due to falls and old age we can no longer travel.
Thanks Jean !

It's not a matter of people not knowing how to cope with change; it's people not being willing to stomach it. Most people's leisure time as well as their bankrolls are finite, and who wants to spend twice as much to get half as much?

(Answer: quite a few people, for now, apparently, but that won't last.)

In May 2017, we had a chance encounter with you and Brad at the Orleans. Brad was his wonderful charming self and you were soooo gracious and signed your latest book (at the time) Frugal Gambler Casino Guide for us as we chatted. In the gaming world, you are a celebrity but in our world, you made us feel like friends and family. I talk about that occasion all the time. Something we will never forget. We wish you and Brad the best of health and every happiness.
