–Not “any.”  Every player, casual or advantage, has to draw his/her own line in the sand of moral standards. Continue reading

A Hit to Our Pockets Coming

I believe that I have mentioned before on this blog that one of our favorite ways to pick up some extra money and/or comps is by participating in casino check-cashing promotions.  Although many local casinos have these, our favorite for many years has been the one at the Palms.  We have each regularly cashed 3 or 4 checks a month and scored a variety of benefits:  free play from $10-$50;  food comps from free buffets to $25 for various restaurants ; $50 spa or salon credit; and occasionally instant cash, from $100 to a couple recent surprises of $1,000 and the top prize of $10,000! New Orleans Holiday Trip

Okay, I’m pretty well caught up and ready to make my promised report about our New Orleans trip.  After a fun-filled holiday visit at the Frugal Princess house in Columbus, GA, all six of us, plus Zachary’s girlfriend, Taylor, piled into two vehicles on New Year’s morning and headed south.  Continue reading

Back From GA and NO

Yes, we’re back home after 12 days of so much out-of-town fun it may take us months to recover!  Trying to keep up with two teenage grandchildren and their friends – I can’t decide if that keeps us young or ages us faster!

There is never a boring day at the Frugal Princess family home: Continue reading

Happy Holidays To All

I will be taking a blog break for a week or so while Brad and I spend the holidays with the Frugal Princess family in Columbus, GA.  And,  as usual, we will drive to Harrah’s New Orleans for a few days stay so that a tough ex-Ranger and a couple strapping grandkids and perhaps some of their teenage friends can help us eat up hundreds of dollars of Seven Star food comps.

And I wish all of you peace and joy this holiday season, whatever holiday you like, or don’t like, to celebrate.  And may 2011 be a very good year for you, in every way!

Return From Laughlin

My second out-of-town trip report this week – an unusually busy travel month for us!

This trip to Laughlin, however, not like the 4-day visit to Reno via jet, was a short overnight visit via the Frugal Plum, our trusty little PT Cruiser. Continue reading

We just got home from a trip to Reno, where we stayed at one of our  favorite casinos, the Atlantis.  They may have the best variety of good video poker anywhere in the country.   Continue reading
