The “Play, Earn, and Win” promotion continues on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays , and again has the feature that allows you to combine your points over multiple days and that generates very very long lines at the Promotion Center on Friday late afternoons and evenings.
The usual mini earn-and-swipe promotion continues on Tuesdays. And their usual drawings continue on Fridays and Saturday nights at 8 p.m. with a “Grand Prize Mini Game” following each drawing. You can earn 5x drawing entries on Fridays and Saturdays from 8 p.m. until midnight.
Brenden Theaters is advertising some specials: $5 Mondays, $4 Thursdays for Sterling Advantage seniors, and $22 Two for Tuesdays that includes 2 tickets, 2 medium drinks, and one medium popcorn.
Now for the biggie news – and a sad story for me. Many months ago the Palms closed down their car wash. We were sad since we had used it regularly for years – and for free since we got many coupons in our mailers down through the years for free tokens. We had the cleanest car in town and we shared our vast supply of tokens with friends and used them for tips. We noticed it became surrounded with some kind of structures. We didn’t know what these structures were for but it looked like this favorite freebie of ours was history. The closing didn’t really surprise us because it had seemed to break down often in the past and with new management making all sorts of changes we figured it wasn’t a profitable endeavor for them.
Well…when we got our July mailers, we were surprised to see this notice: Car wash open in the east garage.
Why was I sad? Let me tell you why. I had thrown out probably over ONE HUNDRED Palms car wash tokens.
I usually save everything – Brad says I am a regular squirrel. But I got tired of looking at the jar of these heavy tokens which could never be used again. So I pitched it – jar and all!
But wait – maybe they had changed the token box and it would only accept a new different token. I think they can do that because someone had told me that when it first opened it would accept Chuck e Cheese tokens and they had to fix that. So anyway I checked at the slot club desk to ask if old tokens would still work. They assured me they would.
I hate to see a grown woman cry!
Jean, the next time you buy a new car, insist that the dealer chain gives you a free car wash at least once a month. We bought a new car a week ago and the free monthly car wash came with it, much to our surprise. Of course, now we’ve got 36 monthly payments coming up, but that’s neither here nor there.
Sorry to hear of your loss Jean. My car is always dirty here in the wilds of Idaho’s Northwest at least 6 “cold” months a year anyhow! Just got back from a 4 day trip to the Palms last night (or should I say this morning as SW airlines was 2 hours late again!). Anyhow as an out-of-towner and fairly new to the Palms I find all the promotions somewhat difficult to understand. Granted I could get in the always seemingly long line at the Club Palms or the promotion desk but with limited time to do “everything” we like to do, i.e. mostly VP gamble, the wife and me let these promotion go. I feel bad about it and truly think you would probably scold me if we met in person but that is probably just the guilt talking. Well I’ve taken way too much of your time and space here. Hoping maybe the Palms will be good enough to give you and Brad some free tokens back as they should understand your situation and it really is not all your fault here. Big wins to you and Brad!
