I believe that AZ Charlies 7x promo was from the old ACE Play club. The new True Rewards has everyone swiping at a kiosk to get their 7x multiplier. You can do this at any time before 11:59 PM to get the multiplier on your play for that day. The mystery multiplier that applies every other day says up to 7x, but we've yet to see anything more than 5x (and that only once). We live outside of Kingman and Aquarius is our home casino, but they don't have a 7x multiplier day so we travel the extra 50 minutes to Charlies Decatur on Thursday. The lunch buffet features corned beef and a wonderful Mongolian stir fry station so it's win win for me. May the royals be with you...Rich

The AGA (the American Gaming Association, which lobbies for the gaming industry ) recently highlighted six key policy areas that they were working on, one of which was “updating gaming tax policy, including an increase to the jackpot reporting threshold from $1,200 to $5,000.”

There are key words in casino promotion advertising that should ring the alarm bells. You know how if you're shopping for a home, you should run screaming if you see the words "quaint" (old, and not in a good way), "unique" (bizarre), or "has potential" (is on the verge of falling down)? Similarly, in casino-speak, "new" or "improved" mean "made worse," "up to" means "a snowball's chance in hell," and "everybody wins" means "nobody wins much of anything."

Reminds me of when the Strip casinos were advertising that 6:5 blackjack had been implemented "by popular demand" and they even said that "They pay 3 to 2, but WE pay 6 to 5!" Or the more recent Boyd of Paradise "NEW AND EXCITING!!" slot club changes.

On the days you do go to a casino, which one(s) do you and Brad prefer? I know you only go where you have an advantage, but do you have any "regulars"--places you generally prefer to play? Where/when might a fan find you and Brad playing? Or is it completely dependent on what's available at any given time?
