Good news folks, and thanks for your thoughts and prayers, I was strong enough to be sent home today. No more free meals, movies, and umpteen cooking shows and food factories tours, as I truly made the best of my stay on the "S.S. Scripps Hillcrest Mercy Hospital" (cruise- Joke!) and private cabin room with a view! Completely felt quite 'pampered' and even like "Bambi", felt smitten by a few lovely nurses I'd like to take home with me! LOL!.....They felt I was able to finally go home, breathing okay on my own, but still sent home with more medical stuff than I care to have. I feel more like I'm in my 70s/80s vs. mid-late 50s, LOL! Oxygen tank and spare oxygen-ator (Machine/device I can plug in which somehow draws oxygen from my own natural home air - and can use same thinner breathing tubes as used past 10 days). Thermometer, BP meter, and oxygen/pulse finger reader...and a walking cane! LOL- I definitely feel I'm being pushed into 'senior-style' living earlier than planned. Martin- who will slowly but surely be able to walk around the block again without needing to catch his breath.....can shelter at home for a while.

Jean, I always enjoy reading your words of wisdom, and this week’s were especially helpful. I completely forgot about withdrawing funds last year from the 529 Plan for my grandson’s college tuition. Thanks for the heads up about the 1099-Q. I haven’t received it yet, so I may have to shake the bushes.

Martin, I hope you feel better and are back home soon.

Yes everyone, please continue good healthy safe living...wash hands, social distancing, masks...You do NOT want to risk getting this virus, as I somehow did. Martin San Diego, have been on 24-7 high and now lower flow oxygen...for nearly 3 weeks..in good Hospital care....never lost sense of taste or smell, no fever. First sign was only a few days of diahhrea....then some fatigue, shortness of breath...For example I went to get my mail, about 50 steps walk, short, but upon returning to my condo, I had to just sit and rest as if I had just ran a 5-milr marathon...by Jan 22, I went to my Scripps clinic to get check-up, and they detected I was already not breathing normally, and absorbing enough oxygen..right away ambulance to Hospital and I have been here ever since...So please be safe out there and wide with any social gaty...from a friend. Martin San Diego....who hopes to go home soon. PS, recovery time varies...I was told. Some a few weeks...up to 6 monthsn... depending on how much lung function was impaired by Covid virus. Appreciate your thoughts and prayers....

Wow! I’ve been quoted in a Jean Scoot blog! Gives me lots of bragging rights. Thanks, Jean.

Spouse and I are just under the age to be in the first group to get the vaccine in our state. However, being volunteer first responders moved us up, so we are all shot up and ready to go.

Glad you and Brad were able to get your shots. Stay safe.

We’re recreational players who haven’t been to a casino in over a year. We’ve both received our 2nd shot so we’re anxious on a return trip. Since we’ve been cooped up at home with no outside trips or even a visit to restaurant, we have a little more money in our pockets, it may be time for a casino visit. We’ll still need to practice the necessary precautions like mask wearing, social distancing and staying clear of larger crowds.

Continue to stay safe and we will get through this.

Great that you both have second shots with very little problems.

Thanks for the tax info, it would be great to have to read info about it...but no casino visits mean nothing to claim LOL
Maybe next year??!!
Stay safe,
Mo
