Suit and rank matter in poker games as far as being the bring-in in games like 7 Card Stud, Stud Hi/Lo, and even Hearts. In Razz the highest exposed card is the bring-in, the K of spades being the highest ranked card, then on 4th St the player with the lowest exposed hand bets or checks.
It would have been nice to hear the rest of the Black Widow interview. I wanted to hear it. 🙁
I was surprised to hear the rude awakening that you got while on a Caesars property Dr. Nick, getting evicted in the middle of the night. I guess it’s safe to say that you no longer do business with them and are probably not allowed on their properties anymore.
Players can share a straight flush in flop poker games like NLHE if the 5 community cards represent a straight flush on the board. Who would fold in that situation?

Nice video, Antonio did let it go. I would have called in that situation. I like his commentary during the Main Event. I look forward to seeing him in the booth this year as well calling the action, with Helmuth of course.
The name was briefly mentioned during the podcast.
That poker room that had that promo on the straight flush hands must have only paid out on major suits instead of minor suits. But what if someone would have hit a higher straight flush than an 8 high in a minor suit? Would it have gotten paid?
It’s possible that 2 or more players could have matching straight flushes in a draw poker game. In stud hi/lo you could have an 8 way split if 4 players had 4 straight flushes to the King to qualify for the high hand, and 4 players had a wheel straight flush to qualify for the best low hand to where the only cards left in the deck would either be a 6,7, or 8 for the community card. In 7 card stud there could be 4 tying straight flush hands which would result in a split.
The casino stuck it to the player who got the straight flush to the 8 in clubs because the casino is biased against card suits which makes it harder to win a promo. The casino is being stingy. They don’t need to turn poker into some kind of bridge game where suits matter. Cheapskates.
It’s really no different than holding K♠️ Q♥️ on a J♠️ 9♠️ 6♦️ 5♠️ 2♠️ board and folding to a big raise or all in. Only one card here beats you here as well.
