Podcast – Mickey Crimm

April 25, 2019 8 Comments Written by Richard Munchkin

Bob and Richard interview a free-spirit gambling loner, Mickey Crimm. Mickey spends about half the year in Montana chasing down various types of progressives, and spends the rest of the year traveling through about 20 states knocking off various promotions.

Mickey also shared some of his experiences of when he used to hop the freight trains to get from place to place.

We welcome your questions – send them to us at [email protected], or you can find me at @RWM21 on Twitter.

Wonder what the strategy is that brings RF occurrence down to one in 33,000?

Probably a go for it at all costs strategy. Example: dealt A♠️ A♥️ A♦️ 5♥️ 8♣️ in JoB and holding just the A♠️

You wouldn’t have to go that far, basically 3RF>2P>HP will do it. That’s a typical progressive move.

Yeah my example was extreme, but just wanted to describe how.

According to the strategy maker for JoB (with the royal paying its normal 4000 credits and everything else paying zero) on WoO, going strictly for a royal gives a royal hit frequency of 1 in 23,080.75. I set everything else to zero to give a “go for the royal and nothing else” strategy possible. Pat royal>4 royal>3 royal>2 royal>single A, K, Q, J, or 10>toss everything

He’s a parasite. Vacuuming up all the progressive money lowers the return to everyone else, The other customers do worse than they normally would, which cripples the businesses offering the games. These are small bar/casinos and many would be at risk of going out of business if their regular customers don’t have any chance to win at all.

He says he makes $75 an hour. But that’s while he’s in action. He has to spend hours and hours driving around, and sometimes he winds up in one of those small joints and there’s no play. Onward, 50 miles down the road to the next small town. It doesn’t sound all that profitable on a yearly basis, and it sure sounds time-consuming and not very much fun.

How does one person vacuum up all the progressive money in a state? More negative nonsense.

To Kevin Lewis: I don’t think u quite understand the process and the potential. You’re welcome to your opinion but believe u r misinformed and lacking information to make an accurate assessment.
