A friend and I visited Jackson’s because of the coupon in LVA. It was a pretty bad deal when you consider the pay tables, but if you are a new sign up, at that time, you got an additional $20 when you hit $100 play through.
We returned a couple times because of the breakfast menu. Great deal for under $10. The waitresses – floor and behind the bar – were super nice. You have to be comfortable in a ‘shot and a beer’ kind of place. it wasn’t far from the strip and you don’t have to take the strip to get there.
I think Binions was pushing to photo copy my i.d. and I either returned another time or skipped them.
The other spot we found due to a coupon was the Whiskey Liquor Up Bar at Binions. I guess there was a coupon for food that didn’t require play. ???
I recommend the coupon book membership.
I’m behind on my podcasts but Anthony Curtis episodes always go right to the top of the list!
It will be interesting to see how the various Vegas resort groups approach their player promos / comps at some point in the future when this pandemic and its associated insanity really subsides. My SO and I have been making Vegas trips for years..and still do ( most of our time is spent on the Strip). The place has always shed it’s skin regularly..it epitomizes periodic change in many ways as a destination locale. Yet, these huge ‘player perks” downgrades at CET / El Dorado, Boyd and Station, and now MGM Resorts are fully reflective of the current pent up crowd demand and visitation. That will end at some point…”unsustainable” as Curtis suggests. Currently, I view it as short-sighted and very disappointing. The downgrades are being introduced because resort management feels as if ” we don’t have to offer traditional Vegas incentives right now..players are and will continue to show up anyway”. There will and has to be an end to these approaches. When is unknown.
We have completely cut ties with CET because of their complete program dismantling ( we were Diamond tier for years) and were complimentary of MGM Resorts during the early span of the pandemic ( and up until recent changes) because room and incentive comps were extremely competitive and good. We made 5 trips to Vegas during the pandemic and enjoyed them all..partially and influentially because the MGM comps / perks were outstanding among the Strip competition. That status has now flown off into an abyss following the recent MGM changes..they just flat removed a bunch of their incentives for players. There’s a ton of merit in the “go where they want you” phrase that Anthony mentioned..currently the options are scarce in Vegas, particularly on the Strip. Time and future visitation numbers will determine to what extent these resort companies have crapped in their own oatmeal with all the reductions. We’ll see.
Anthony Curtis, transportation can get expensive. You might approach Lyft and Uber for some discount offers. If I want to use an offer away from the strip and Fremont, a half price ride to another coupon offer may generate more usage.
