This bonus episode is something we probably should have done a lot more of. No guest, no mail bag questions, just a conversation between Bob and I.

Conversation between Bob and ME. (objective case, object of the preposition “between)
R % B, I’ve thoroughly enjoyed ur podcasts for several years now. Your knowledge and degree of professionalism are to be commended. In particular, I admire your keeping the language clean. In so many podcasts I hear , the vulgarity of the conversation can be a total turnoff. I do have one question . Do you envision AI in the future completely taking over a casino floor to the extent of no human dealers, bosses, waitresses, or cashiers being necessary? AI is so powerful that I could see that eventually happening.Thx
One of the best episodes. You will be missed!
Thank you for everything and best of luck on your future endeavors.
I have said on the show many times that I think 10 years from now casinos won’t have live dealers. All of the table games will be machines. I don’t know how much AI will be involved, but casinos hate paying employees and benefits so there has already been a move in this direction.
I hear that MacDonalds already has some places that have no humans working. Everything is done by machines.
And do you agree one of the results will Probly be The end of blackjack advantage play?
Worker-less food vending goes back to 1895, the automat. Workers were expensive back then, so easy to replace. My guess is the postwar baby boom provided a source of cheap labor (mostly high schoolers), so fast food workers were in style again with places like Howard-Johnson and McDonalds. These days teens and twenty year olds can make more money as social media influencers, twitch streamers, onlyfans and token hustlers, so low end labor is expensive again and the automat will make a comeback.
“And do you agree one of the results will Probly be The end of blackjack advantage play?”
I think the bigger threat is the casinos going “cashless” so it will be very difficult to play anonymously. It will probably be the end of traditional card counting, but I think creative advantage players will always find a way to get an edge.
