On Saturday January 28th 2017 the 21st annual Blackjack Ball was held. Bob will be writing an article next week with the full details of all that went on at the Ball, but I wanted to post this video of a brief speech by Dr Ed Thorp. Dr. Thorp is busy with a promotional tour for his new book, A Man For All Markets, but has agreed to come on Gambling With an Edge in a few weeks.
I am incredibly grateful to Dr. Thorp for his work. His book Beat the Dealer changed my life dramatically, as it did the majority of people in the room that night.

Yes, this is one of the all-time greats, if not first on the list. As long as I’ve known him, he’s always had the calm and humble demeanor that’s displayed in this short address. Lots of successful people in the room and he had the total attention of every one of them.
I rarely purchase books but I felt compelled to buy this one based on the high regards Dr. Thorp received by anthony and Mr. Munchkin. Got the digital copy to read on my mobile device during downtimes.
I purchased the Amazon audible.com version of this book and was simply amazed twith Dr. Thorpe. He’s got such a wonderful delivery and poise all w so much talent.
It’s much easier listening to this book and going back to the parts you enjoy most. I was thoroughly enthralled
I wonder who got the nod this year? I suppose we’ll find out soon enough. It was nice to hear Dr. Thorp speak. The bow tie added a nice touch.
