Questions for lawyer Bob. Is a promotion for locals only discrimination? Secondly (not about the law but interesting) since I am not a local and dislike being excluded…why offend customers that bring in business from outside Las Vegas? The local will primarily spend discretionary income in Las Vegas anyway but a non local that stays home is lost opportunity.

Gary. Give me a specific type of promotion you’re asking about. They regularly have “Nevada residents get xx% off” or “Locals park for free.” Are you asking about those or did you have a specific type of promo in mind? (Or are you just pissed you miss out on something that somebody else gets?)

I know they have “seniors only” promotions, and “invited guests” and “girls drink free before 10 p.m.” promotions

All of us are local in only one casino jurisdiction (at most) and non-local at all the others.

        Bob,
A promotion like “earn 500 points and receive a set of dishes or a T-shirt and keep the points” More than once I was told by a boothling that I did not have a Las Vegas (or Nevada) address so I was not eligible. I then saw the fine print on the poster – “Nevada residents only” This is not a huge deal but on the other hand why exclude people that are supporting your business?

The Young At Heart at Boyd’s casinos.
    Locals only. What? Really?

If it is not too late, my questions will be relating to skill based slots.

Have there been any notable amends to the gaming regulations regards to the slot machine with the introduction of skill based gaming that is appearing on casino floors lately?
