How the Mighty Have Fallen

July 10, 2012 Written by Bob Dancer

I was playing 25¢ Ten Play 9/6 Jacks or Better at the Palms. For some promotions, it’s the best game at that casino to play. They have a strange rule at the Palms that the number of drawing tickets you earn is based on the lowest denomination games on the machine you are playing — […]

No Excuse

July 3, 2012 Written by Bob Dancer

Shirley and I attended the Harrah’s Seven Star Event in Atlantic City about a month ago. They provided travel money, food money, gift cards, and various events to make the weekend interesting, and on Thursday they gave us a game in which we had a small edge.

June 26, 2012 Written by Bob Dancer

I’m developing considerable knowledge and improving my skills at Texas Hold’em poker, and it’s primarily because I’m co-hosting Gambling with an Edge, a radio show on Thursday night.

A Quick Quads Quiz

June 12, 2012 Written by Bob Dancer

I just made up a quiz concerning 9/6 Double Double Bonus Quick Quads. Although the quiz won’t seem too difficult, I would have personally missed one of these questions earlier this year. If you’ve learned everything you know about Quick Quads from my writing, you’ll miss the same one.

I have two different “half-topics” I want to discuss. Neither merits a full column, but maybe both of them together do.

Advice to New Advantage Players

May 15, 2012 Written by Bob Dancer

Many of you know that my radio co-host for six months was Richard Munchkin. He writes interesting things for his website and a couple of months ago posted Advice to New Advantage Players. I liked his title so much I stole it! And I’m going to be referring back to what he wrote, so I […]

A Spa Suite on the NCL Epic

May 8, 2012 Written by Bob Dancer

The last week in March, 2012, Shirley and I spent a week aboard the Norwegian Epic. This is the largest ship in the NCL line, although there are at least two larger ships on other cruise lines. With 4,000 passengers and a crew of 2,000, it is a floating city.
