Our guest this week is Maria Romano, the widow, daughter, and brother of the three principals of American Coin company — the video poker company that was cheating players in the late 1980s. We discuss the book by her deceased husband, Frank Romano, called “American Coin.”

2 Comments / questions for Bob re the American Coin photo

You wear a tie when you’re playing VP?

Aren’t you worried with your hand over the machine that you’ll hit the Draw button accidentally?

    Enjoyed the Podcast very much!

Very odd show. Feel like I jumped into the middle of a conversation.

I do not normally wear a tie when I play video poker. — although occasionally I’m dressed for another occasion and play some vp before going home.

The cover of the book came from a shot made from an episode on the History Channel or the Discover Channel, which used to make quite a few documentaries on gambling — and I was part of several of them.

Wearing a tie when I’m going to be on a television show is not a far stretch.

    Bob

Glad I wasn’t the only one. This episode is going to be very confusing to anyone who didn’t know about American Coin previously.
