Nice show as always guys, thanks. I just wanted to comment about the folded ticket segment as I had it work for me. I am sure Bob, that you had written or spoke of this years ago, and thats why I use the advice. Anyway, I was attending a small casino function here in the midwest where a drawing was to be held for cash and trips for the high tier players club members . There were perhaps only a 100 tickets in the bin, but I had folded mine hard a couple times and opened it up before I dropped it in. The casino manager was doing the honors of announcing the winners, but he was having one of his assistants draw the tickets. Mine was the first one drawn, and when the manager looked at it the first thing he said was ” Oh, Look ! a folded ticket ! ” and smirked. I was somewhat embarassed by that comment but nobody else in the room seemed to understand him. It was the first time I had a chance to use the raffle advice, and won a grand. Haven’t been to many raffles after that, but hey, I am ahead, and I attribute it to you. Thanks guys

This email was sent to me. I did not list the sender’s name because I’m not sure if he wishes it to be public. He may, of course take credit if he wishes. It definitely pertains to this podcast episode:

You had an email that was asking about Joker Wild listings in Las Vegas, on
vpfree2. Depending on when he asked the question, if he had looked a mere few
months ago he would have found a gazillion listings, full pay. Those listings
instantly disappeared when Stations took down the FPDW games, FPJW went away
    with them.

I know he asked about “full pay or other”, I would say there probably is only
FPJW at Plaza now, period. I doubt if any FPJW exist in Vegas now, except at
    Plaza.

You’ll find about a dozen 99.29 JW on vpfree2, and that’s probably close to how
many actually are in Vegas. That’s my hunch, anyway. After that, there’s
98.44, and you’re right, vpfree2 just doesn’t list them, even if there are many
    around town.

What percent of AP gamblers are able to support themselves? For example, often said all craps players die broke!

Very few craps players are APs. There can be promotions that make craps a positive game, but those are rare. Some believe they can control the dice — to me the jury is out on that. Putting both of these categories together, you still have a low number of APs.

Many other games (poker, video poker, sports betting, horse racing, blackjack, slots, a huge number of table games, backgammon, and a few others) give the knowledgeable players an edge. I suspect there are in the low to mid 10s of thousands of players who make a living this way in the United States — but nobody knows for sure.

There is no database listing how much people make. Even if you had all IRS data (which only the IRS does), every winning player has the incentive to fudge downward on his/her reported winnings — and I suspect most do.

This was originally sent to gamblingwithanedge.com about this podcast I am reposting it here because it relates to a question Richard and I tried to answer on the air

I have just listened to the podcast from 27th March and have some info for the listener who is traveling to Australia and Ireland. I live in Australia and hope I have some info that can help. The listener said he was interested in playing blackjack, hole carding, playing machines and poker.

In Australia travelling down the east coast in the popular trek. The casino’s in Brisbane, Gold Coast and Sydney are all part of the Star Entertainment Group. The main floor has blackjack that only uses CSM’s and there is no hole card dealt on blackjack games in Australia. Shoe games are played in the VIP rooms and have minimums generally starting at $50, have 6 or 8 deck games and have acceptable penetration and rules. You will need to become a member to gain access and if you get barred in one you are barred in all of these venues.

Canberra Casino is on the east coast and is a very small casino. It also deals from CSM’s on the main floor and in the high limit area. If you have enough money and complain about the CSM’s they have be known to remove them at the higher limit tables and do a hand shuffle (and not very well!). I am not sure if they still do this though.

Crown Casino in Melbourne is the biggest casino in the country. It is pretty much the same as The Star group with CSM’s on main floor and shoe games in the VIP room and no hole card dealt on blackjack. They also own the Crown Casino Perth, same deal barred in one, you’re barred in both.

Machine play in these casino isn’t great and you will have competition. I don’t play poker so cant say much other than they all have poker rooms except for Canberra. ,

I really enjoy the show and if there is any info that I can help you with from this part of the world let me know and I will help where I

I use the “Knight fold” for my tickets in a drum. it REALLY works! People call me lucky ,but I have an edge.
Simply fold the corners at a 90 * angle and the 2 opposite corners fold back. This tactic increases you chance of being drawn at least by 40 %.. Do i win? YES!!!!!!!
