For many years I have been a blackjack AP, but within the past few years I have been playing situational plays on certain machines. Unfortunately, some friends and I hit the casinos in Laughlin as they had many of these types of machines and after a week every casino in Laughlin yanked them out. As these machines were somewhat older as we played them for over a year in our casinos we stupidly did not take the hint and stayed in town to play blackjack. After a nice run at the Nugget we noticed a suit talking to a Vegas Metro cop, and we decided to leave at different intervals. Needless to say I was the one pulled over to be harassed and to have my Minnesota SUV plates confiscated by the officer because he told me that the state of Arkansas had issued my Minnesota SUV license plates to a car there in Arkansas. Obviously, this was so that I would have to leave town only to return home to get new plates. My question though is have you guys noticed any push by the casinos to eliminate such machines that present situational plays that a smart player can just check the different wager screens on the machine that can show that in fact the next two through as many as five spins are guaranteed winners? Such machines as O Song, O Magic, D Lanterns and others. Or do you think the Industry will always offer such machines?
(9:00). Why waste time with that Caesar’s app to get Tier Credits. Diamond is easily available without ever setting foot into a Caesar’s property. I go once a year to collect my celebration dinner. I’m sure many other listeners do the same.
Casinos are aware that some players beat some machines, and it annoys them. But if they make good money on the machine they will leave it in, and back off the players. If the machine is not performing well they take it out.
Someone asked about contributing to vpFREE2.com. You don’t have to sign up to be a volunteer beforehand. I am just a video poker player who contributes updates when I notice changes that should be made (but not ones that it would be better not to blab about).
The easiest way to send them an update is to look at the casino’s Games page, decide what needs to be changed, then click on “Submit update about this casino”. This will bring up a page where you can type the changes you want to submit. When done, click on “Send Us a message” at the bottom of that page.
Any player can submit updates this way. They will go directly to the person who will be updating the site for that casino. This is better than using the “Contact Us” link which will send your message to the site owner instead of the proper updater.
P.S. I wonder if vpFREE2.com will survive the casino closures. Interest in video poker was way down even before this – too many paytable and benefit downgrades. Many players have moved on to other endeavors.
