Always fun to hear Munchkin flummoxed by wildly over-generalized questions!

Regarding not telling people how you make a living…..I retired from IRS Collection Division after 32 years. (My friend always said I left policing for IRS because I felt too popular.)

Anyway, I never liked telling new acquaintances where I worked. I’d always get one of three responses: 1) awkward silence, 2) the standard joke of “Hey, I paid all mine!” as they backed away with their hands up, or 3) the story of their last audit in excruciating detail.

So I always told people I was an accountant at the Post Office. I couldn’t think of a job that sounded more boring and conducive to changing topics.
