I was associated with WinPoker<\/em> for many years. It was, and is, a good product. Our breakup happened when Video Poker for Winners<\/em> invited me along and promised to have a strategy calculator — a feature I think is important.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

So I left\u00a0WinPoker<\/em>. I\u2019ve remained on good terms with Dean Zamzow, the man in charge of all things related to\u00a0WinPoker<\/em>, but have no remaining financial interest in that product.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Still,\u00a0Video Poker for Winners<\/em>\u00a0has terminated its run and will not be coming back. If it still works on your computer, great. When you change your computer, there will be no way to bring\u00a0VPW<\/em>\u00a0along with you. So the best option for a lot of players is WinPoker<\/span> <\/em>(www.zamzone.com<\/a>).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I received a question from somebody who was having difficulty adding Triple Double Bonus to\u00a0WinPoker<\/em>. There are two different methods to accomplish this<\/span>, and I\u2019ll describe both here.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

One method is to use the base of Double Double Bonus Poker and treat it as a pay schedule change. Here are the pay schedule categories that are different between the games:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To enter these changes, go to the DDB game, click on \u2018<\/span>Options\u00a0\ud83e\udc6a\u00a0Change Pay Tables,\u2019<\/span> click on \u2018<\/span>Set to Default,\u2019<\/span> and make the alterations. Then go to \u2018<\/span>Analyze\u00a0\ud83e\udc6a\u00a0Game,\u2019<\/span> click on \u2018<\/span>Run Analysis.\u2019 <\/span>If you\u2019ve done everything correctly<\/span>, the number should come out 99.5778%. If it comes out a different number, check to see that you\u2019ve entered the numbers shown above.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Notice that you\u2019ve done away with DDB, because you\u2019ve set it to TDB. If you want to have both games on your computer at the same time you need to go to \u2018<\/span>User Defined Games.\u2019<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

This will bring up a Jacks or Better game. Which is okay to start from. You\u2019ll need to name the game. I recommend 9-7 Triple Double Bonus, or maybe 9-7 TDB, but if you want to call it Green Bananas, that\u2019s perfectly okay.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Using User Defined Games is a longer, more tedious, method, but one that will keep the game on your computer and let you also practice DDB. The User Defined Games are found beneath the other games. Pick one. Now click on \u2018<\/span>Define . . .\u2019<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Jacks or Better has only one 4<\/span> of a Kind <\/span>category. TDB has five. So you\u2019re going to have to add four more lines. You do this by clicking on \u2018<\/span>Add Payline\u2019<\/span> four times.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You\u2019re going to need to label these five 4<\/span> of a Kind <\/span>lines. How you label them is up to you.\u00a0\u00a0On each of these four additional<\/span> lines, you\u2019re going to set the Hand Type to \u2018<\/span>4 of a Kind.\u2019<\/span> The Hand Type is already set that way on the 4 of a Kind line you retain from the Jacks or Better game.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

For each of the five 4<\/span> of a Kind<\/span> lines, you\u2019re going to need to tell the computer which 4<\/span> of a Kinds <\/span>you\u2019re talking about, with which kickers, if any. Below is how I label these five lines and how I define them:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Those are the only additional lines you\u2019re going to need to add. Personally, I click on \u2018<\/span>Up\u2019<\/span> and \u2018<\/span>Down\u2019<\/span> buttons enough times so that the five lines for quads are all together. But mathematically it doesn\u2019t matter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You\u2019re going to have to adjust the pay schedule in three additional places. Flush (change to 35), 3<\/span> of a Kind (change to 10) and Two Pair (change to 5).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Once you\u2019ve entered all of these numbers, click on \u2018<\/span>OK.\u2019<\/span> Then go to \u2018<\/span>Analyze\u00a0\ud83e\udc6a\u00a0Game\u00a0\ud83e\udc6a\u00a0Run Analysis\u2019<\/span> and look for the same 99.5778% we were looking for before. If you get it right the first time, you\u2019re amazing. I\u2019ve done this for maybe 50 games through the years and have gotten about five completely correct the first time. I then re-check the numbers and the definitions, and eventually it becomes correct.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
