Meh"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><em>Reviewed in the August 2017 Las Vegas Advisor<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We finally did it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We ordered \u2014 and ate\u2014the saut\u00e9ed grasshoppers (chapulines in Spanish, since they come from certain areas of Mexico) at El Dorado Cantina. That\u2019s what we\u2019re about here, folks. We do it, so you don\u2019t have to.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--more-->\n\n\n\n<p>Did we like \u2019em? Not really, but not for reasons that you might expect.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>They weren\u2019t squishy or crunchy or even buggy (whatever that is). If anything, we found them so bland, they were difficult to describe. One in our party likened them to \u201cshrimp skins.\u201d A second said, \u201cBurnt popcorn.\u201d The best descriptor came from the bartender, who pretty much nailed it with \u201csoggy sunflower seeds.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Bottom line, if you want to eat grasshoppers just to say you ate grasshoppers, you don\u2019t have to worry about being repulsed by the taste or consistency. El Dorado is a good Mexican restaurant that\u2019s interesting enough just for its location as an annex to Sapphire\u2019s gentlemen\u2019s club.
