However, garages are flooding and casino doors <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sunherald.com\/news\/weather-news\/article253830898.html\">are being sandbagged<\/a> and reinforced, so this isn&#8217;t being taken lately. Most <strong>Biloxi<\/strong>-area casinos <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sunherald.com\/news\/weather-news\/article253785543.html\">were proactive<\/a> about shutting down on Saturday afternoon, although tardy responses from <strong>Golden Nugget<\/strong> and <strong>Island View Casino<\/strong> are to be noted. We&#8217;ll provide further news as it arrives but Ida&#8217;s bark appears to have been worse than her bite, thank God.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-drop-cap\">Two sports betting licenses remain up for grabs in <strong>Arizona<\/strong>. But the full tribal complement of 10 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.reviewjournal.com\/business\/casinos-gaming\/10-tribes-eight-sports-teams-get-arizona-sports-betting-licenses-2428628\/\">has been issued<\/a> by Gov. <strong>Doug Ducey<\/strong> (R). Winners include <strong>WynnBET<\/strong> (<strong>San Carlos Apache Tribe<\/strong>), <strong>Westgate Las Vegas<\/strong> (<strong>Fort Mojave Indian Tribe<\/strong>), Golden Nugget (<strong>Hualapai Tribe<\/strong>), <strong>Tonto Apache<\/strong> (<strong>Churchill Downs<\/strong>), two tribes going with no-name outfits and four tribes\u2014including the doughty <strong>Tohono O&#8217;odham<\/strong> nation, flying solo. Sports teams dealt in included the <strong>Arizona Cardinals<\/strong> (<strong>BetMGM<\/strong>), the <strong>Arizona Diamondbacks<\/strong> (<strong>William Hill<\/strong>), the <strong>Phoenix Suns<\/strong> (<strong>FanDuel<\/strong>), the <strong>Phoenix Mercury<\/strong> (<strong>Bally&#8217;s Corp<\/strong>.),<strong> TPC Scottsdale<\/strong> (<strong>DraftKings<\/strong>), <strong>Phoenix Speedway<\/strong> (<strong>Penn National Gaming<\/strong>), the <strong>Arizona Rattlers<\/strong> (<strong>Rush Street Interactive<\/strong>) and the presently unaffiliated <strong>Phoenix Coyotes<\/strong>. Left out in the cold is the <strong>Gila River Indian Nation<\/strong>, which partnered with BetMGM but to no avail.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--more-->\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-drop-cap\">Now that <strong>Yokohama<\/strong> is out of the picture, there&#8217;s serious talk that the Japanese government could issue fewer than the three envisioned casino licenses (plausible), perhaps as few as none (unlikely, in our view). <strong>Melco Resorts &amp; Entertainment<\/strong> and <strong>Genting Group<\/strong> found themselves at loose ends when Yokohama elected a Communist mayor who is dead-set against casinos. (That still leaves <strong>Tokyo<\/strong>.) Contemplating this unraveling of <strong>Japan<\/strong>&#8216;s grand casino scheme, consultant <strong>Brendan Bussmann<\/strong> sounded <a href=\"https:\/\/ggbnews.com\/article\/japan-ir-race-all-over-for-yokohama\/\">more than a little desperate<\/a>: &#8220;It\u2019s time to push forward with this effort to help serve as further catalyst for Japan\u2019s post-pandemic rebound through the initial construction and then on the back half of 2020s when these facilities will open to drive tourism.\u201d You wouldn&#8217;t happen to have a vested interest, would you, Mr. B?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>Jottings<\/em><\/strong>: There&#8217;s been another <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cdcgamingreports.com\/commentaries\/the-personhood-of-crown-resorts-its-crimes-and-punishments\/\">leadership shakeup<\/a> at shady <strong>Crown Resorts<\/strong>. Recent revelations about the troubled company include such astute business strategies as flying in whales <a href=\"https:\/\/ggbnews.com\/article\/switkowski-named-crown-chairman-mccann-ceo\/\">who then didn&#8217;t gamble<\/a>. Where <strong>James Packer<\/strong> goes, disaster is sure to follow &#8230; Unlike some companies that could stand to refresh their <strong>Atlantic City<\/strong> slot inventory (<em>cough<\/em>Caesars<em>cough<\/em>), <strong>Ocean Casino Resort<\/strong> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theoceanac.com\/casino\/slots\/buffalo-chief\/?utm_source=OceanAC&amp;utm_medium=email&amp;utm_campaign=20210824_slots\">isn&#8217;t being shy<\/a> about touting its new slots. Ocean also continues to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theoceanac.com\/casino\/?utm_source=OceanAC&amp;utm_medium=email&amp;utm_campaign=20210824_slots\">tinker with its casino floor<\/a> layout to make it more customer-friendly. Small wonder that CEO <strong>Terry Glebocki<\/strong> is playing a winning hand &#8230; Dominoes continue to fall in Indian Country as four <strong>Ho Chunk<\/strong>-branded casinos in <strong>Wisconsin<\/strong> closed last weekend for &#8220;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nbc15.com\/2021\/08\/27\/four-ho-chunk-casinos-remain-closed\/\">unforeseen circumstances<\/a>&#8221; that initially seemed to spell C-O-V-I-D but later were identified as (equally sinister) &#8220;computer issues. The lone Ho Chunk casino to remain open was in <strong>Madison<\/strong> &#8230; <strong>Scoreboard<\/strong> is out, <strong>DraftKings<\/strong> is in as <strong>Oregon<\/strong>&#8216;s new, sole provider of OSB, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.marketwatch.com\/story\/draftkings-stock-jumps-after-oregon-makes-it-the-states-exclusive-sports-betting-provider-11630083436\">an understandable move<\/a>.
