Not much has changed this year compared to last with regard to Monday Night Football parties. As we\u2019ve noted for several years now, the days of the must-have-Monday-night-parties are long gone and every year that it becomes more evident. Not that NFL games in general aren\u2019t big events. The sports books and bars are as busy and raucous as ever. But the organized parties are, for the most part, no longer offered. Of course, there are hold-outs, the prominent being the two tried-and-trues: South Point and Sapphire gentlemen\u2019s club.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

South Point\u2014This year again, South Point keeps the tradition of the classic Monday Night Football bash alive with its party in the showroom, which is packed every week. The games show on the big screens and cash drawings are held each quarter ($1,000 total), so you have a free shot at leaving with more money than you came in with. A draft Bud is $2 and bottomless drafts or a bucket of five bottles is $15. The only food items served are $1.50 hot dogs and $1 popcorn and the lines to order are long (walk down to the sports book hot dog card as an alternative). The showroom party is Monday nights only, but there\u2019s a \u201cfootball special\u201d with $2 Budweiser products at South Point bars is available on weekends from 10 am to 6 pm.<\/p>\n\n\n

Other Casinos\/Bars\u2014There\u2019s not a lot out there in other casinos, with most now relying on sports book energy to carry the day. Nearby Silverton has $1 Pacifico draft and $5 shots. Silver Sevens has $1 Coors Light bottles. Ellis Island hosts a big gathering in the Front Yard, but nothing special in terms of a deal. The Pass in Henderson has $1.75 drafts and $1 wings during all televised college and pro games. Lots of local bars run specials. We\u2019re compiling a list (along with Raiders specials), but for now, the best way to take advantage of those is to check \u2019em out when a team they follow is playing. Consult our list of \u201cTeam Meetings\u201d to find out which teams and bars go together. It\u2019s worth noting that the former we-love-locals places, Station and Boyd, have nothing, absolutely nothing, not even a hot dog special.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sapphire\u2014There\u2019s an admission charge, but overall, the Sapphire MNF party is the best in town. The $25 fee gets you an open bar from 5 to 7 pm, two free-drink tickets to use after 7, a buffet, and lots of raffled prizes. The dancers serve as cocktail waitresses and perform $2 lap dances at halftime (even if you don\u2019t participate, they\u2019re fun to watch). The buffet is for real, good enough, in fact, to be added to our \u201cspot buffet\u201d list in DINING. When we were there, it included prime rib, mini wedge salads, asparagus, mac & cheese, wings, fingers, sliders, pizza, and desserts. This party is also crowded, so you should get there a little before game time to secure a table.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

Other Strip Clubs\u2014You can find a few more decent options at the strip clubs. Crazy Horse 3 has an open bar during the game and pizza at halftime for $25. Hustler has $2 drinks if you have a Hustler card. It\u2019s a one-time $30 purchase and the card is ostensibly good forever (we bought ours 10 years ago). Play it Again Sam\u2019s has buckets of five beers for $25. Peppermint Hippo has $25 buckets and $5 Patron shots. Minks on the east side has $3 drafts, $5 bottles and well drinks, and half-price appetizers.
