First off was <strong>J.P.<\/strong> <strong>Morgan<\/strong> analyst <strong>Joseph Greff<\/strong>, who upped his 2024 and &#8217;25 projections &#8220;<em>on stronger than previously modeled Durango [Resort] property estimates<\/em>.&#8221; His 1Q24 estimates for cash flow goes to $242 million, with $38 million coming just from <strong>Durango Resort<\/strong>\u2014and at the cost of 6% cash-flow decline at other Station casinos. The growth just keeps on coming, with full-year cash flow in 2024 of $919 anticipated, followed by $942 million next year. Wall Street, on the whole, expects $883m and $926m, respectively. And that&#8217;s not even Greff&#8217;s best-case scenario.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--more-->\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;<em>We continue to like the risk-reward in RRR, and expect RRR\u2019s 1Q24 and outlook to shine versus peers when it reports earnings sometime next month<\/em>,&#8221; Greff wrote. It helps, of course, that Vegas-only Station was spared the harsh winter weather that marred much of the rest of the country. Greff noted that <strong>Las Vegas<\/strong> locals-derived gambling revenue is up 4% through the first two months of the year. He also thinks that Durango could generate as much as 20% ROI, unheard-of in the present day casino industry &#8230; indeed, not since way back in the early Nineties. The boffin ratcheted his Station price target up to $69\/share, a six-buck increase and put a $662 million valuation on Station&#8217;s raw land, of which 441 acres are slated for development.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Over at <strong>Deutsche Bank<\/strong>, analyst <strong>Carlo Santarelli<\/strong> joined the swelling chorus of praise, writing &#8220;<em>we have become increasingly comfortable with; <strong>1)<\/strong> continued locals market promotional discipline, <strong>2)<\/strong> continued above expectation performance at Durango, and 3) lower than expected cannibalization across both the&nbsp;[<strong>Boyd<\/strong> <strong>Gaming<\/strong>]&nbsp;and&nbsp;RRR&nbsp;portfolios. Accordingly, we have raised our forecasts for&nbsp;RRR&nbsp;for 2024 and 2025, as well as our price target<\/em>.&#8221; The latter went to $70\/share, all the way up to $62. The most robust performance came from little <strong>Hollywood Perryville<\/strong>, up 6% to $8.5 million. By contrast, <strong>Ocean Down<\/strong>s was down 6.5% to $7.5 million. <strong>MGM National Harbor <\/strong>(<em>above<\/em>) led the big boys, up 3.5% to $75 million, while its only true rival, <strong>Maryland Live<\/strong>, was good for $65 million (flat). <strong>Horseshoe Baltimore<\/strong> had a good month, by Horseshoe Baltimore standards, down only 4% to $17 million. Could it be finally bottoming out? <strong>Rocky Gap Resort<\/strong> continues to flounder under <strong>Century Casinos<\/strong>, down 6.5% to $5 million.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Clearly fed up<\/strong> with the foot-dragging of the <strong>New Jersey<\/strong> Lege with regard to continued smoking, casino workers are taking matters into their own hands. <strong>Casino Employees Against Smoking Effects<\/strong> (CEASE) and the <strong>UAW<\/strong> joined forces yesterday <a href=\"https:\/\/uaw.org\/uaw-c-e-a-s-e-claim-casino-smoking-exemption-unconstitutional-in-new-lawsuit\/\">to sue the state<\/a> for unconstitutionally exempting casinos from the state&#8217;s smoking ban. Senatorial hopeful Rep. <strong>Andy Kim<\/strong> (D) also lent his voice to the cause. Said Kim, \u201c<em>You\u2019re not asking for the moon\u2014you\u2019re asking to be treated like everybody else<\/em>.\u201d True that. The lawsuit alleges that the state constitution was violated when Big Gaming was exempted from the <strong>2006 Smoke-Free Air Act<\/strong>, which acknowledged the dangers of secondhand smoke. Said CEASE leader <strong>Pete Naccarelli<\/strong>, &#8220;<em>we\u2019re tired of seeing co-workers become sick or even die from a litany of diseases that could have been prevented. It\u2019s shameful and it cannot continue<\/em>.&#8221; The Lege could make this go away\u2014and fast\u2014if it acted on a total smoking <em>fatwa<\/em> that Gov. <strong>Phil Murphy<\/strong> (D) has long since promised to sign. The <strong>Toronto<\/strong>-based nonprofit is reportedly very picky about who it chooses, with <strong>BetMGM<\/strong> getting its nod last year &#8230; Another sports betting corpse has hit the floor. <strong>888 Holdings<\/strong> is getting out the U.S. and selling its assets to <strong>Hard Rock Digital<\/strong>.
