The coffee achiever of the Boardwalk was <strong>Ocean Casino Resort<\/strong> (<em>above<\/em>), catapulting 39% to $39.5 million. <strong>Hard Rock Atlantic City<\/strong> was still ahead at $45.5 million (2%) but that might be too close for comfort. <strong>Borgata<\/strong> led with $63 million but had the flattest grosses in town.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--more-->\n\n\n\n<p>Some perverse congratulations go to <strong>Bally&#8217;s Atlantic City<\/strong>, plummeting 19.5% to $10 million and change. <strong>New York State<\/strong> gaming regulators might want to look to its inept ways of doing business before handing <strong>Bally&#8217;s Corp<\/strong>. a license to do the same in <strong>New York City<\/strong>. Or not. It&#8217;s their funeral. <strong>Golden Nugget<\/strong> actually snatched last place away from Bally&#8217;s, grossing a bare $10 million (-10%). All the grind joints slumped, with <strong>Resorts Atlantic City<\/strong> slouching 5.5% to $13.5 million. The <strong>Caesars Entertainment<\/strong> trio were all revenue-negative too (and barely outgrossing Hard Rock <em>combined<\/em>), with <strong>Harrah&#8217;s Resort<\/strong> sliding 12% to $16.5 million. <strong>Caesars Atlantic City<\/strong> tumbled 19%, also to $16.5 million, while <strong>Tropicana Atlantic City<\/strong> fell 9.5% to $16 million. Books held an unimpressive 7.3% as win toppled 19% to $90 million, despite a 3% uptick in wagering to $1.1 billion. <strong>FanDuel<\/strong> was paramount with $44 million, unseating <strong>DraftKings<\/strong> and its $22.5 million. <strong>BetRiver<\/strong>s fell below the $1 million Mendoza Line whilst <strong>BetMGM<\/strong> grabbed $4.5 million and <strong>Fanatics<\/strong> did better still: $7 million. <strong>Caesars Sportsbook<\/strong> also bested MGM with $5 million and <strong>ESPN Bet<\/strong> eked out $2.5 million. (Wasn&#8217;t this the NFL season that was going to turn everything around for <strong>Jay Snowden<\/strong>&#8216;s boondoggle?)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>iGaming was best for <strong>New Jersey<\/strong>, up 17% to $243 million. Outside of the little casinos, the only standout month belonged to <strong>Mount Airy Resort<\/strong>, jumping 15.5% to $18 million. <strong>Parx<\/strong> was flat at $46 million, still far more than enough to dominate the <strong>Philadelphia<\/strong> market. <strong>Philadelphia Live<\/strong> was down 3% to $20.5 million, <strong>Rivers Philadelphia<\/strong> slumped 7% to $17 million and <strong>Harrah&#8217;s Philadelphia<\/strong> leveled off at $10 million. <strong>Valley Forge Resort<\/strong> also flattened at $11 million. <strong>Mohegan Pocono<\/strong> slid 9% upstate to reach $15.5 million and <strong>Wind Creek Bethlehem<\/strong> dipped 5% for a still-awesome $40 million. <strong>Presque Isle Downs<\/strong> gained 4% for $8 million, <strong>Hollywood Penn National<\/strong> declined 6% to $12 million and <strong>Lady Luck Nemacoli<\/strong>n was flat at $2 million, ending an enviable run of gains.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In and around <strong>Pittsburgh<\/strong>, cloacal <strong>Rivers Pittsburgh<\/strong> upped 3% to $27 million, staving off <strong>Pittsburgh Live<\/strong> ($9 million, 1.5%) and <strong>Hollywood Meadows<\/strong> ($13.5 million, -13%). <strong>Hollywood York<\/strong> hopped 8% to $8 million, <strong>Hollywood Morgantown<\/strong> leapt 12% to $6 million and <strong>Parx Shippensburg<\/strong> also jumped 12% for $3 million. iGaming brought in another $286.5 million, overshadowed by $85 million haul, rivaled only by <strong>DraftKings<\/strong>&#8216; $75 million. <strong>Hollywood Casino<\/strong> captured but a tenth as much, while <strong>BetRivers<\/strong> nabbed $43 million. <strong>BetMGM<\/strong> took in $35.5 million and <strong>Caesars Palace Online <\/strong>did $14 million.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sports betting saw handle climb to $851 million. Books kept just $72 million (or 8.4%) of that, least of all <strong>Caesars Sportsbook<\/strong> with only $2 million. FanDuel was tops with $32 million and DraftKings had half as much. The only outperformer was\u2014believe it or not\u2014<strong>Horseshoe Baltimore<\/strong>, which gained 6.5% for $14 million. <strong>MGM National Harbor<\/strong> led with $63 million (-5.5%), closely segued by <strong>Maryland Live<\/strong>&#8216;s $55 million (-8%). <strong>Ocean Downs<\/strong> dipped 4% to $8.5 million, <strong>Hollywood Perryville <\/strong>slipped 4.5% to $6.4 million and<strong> Rocky Gap Resort <\/strong>showed more signs of a turnaround, up 5% to $4.5 million.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image is-style-rounded\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"980\" height=\"487\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.lasvegasadvisor.com\/shop\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/12\/Hard-Rock-Gary.png?resize=980%2C487&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-847484\" srcset=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.lasvegasadvisor.com\/shop\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/12\/Hard-Rock-Gary.png?w=1024&amp;ssl=1 1024w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.lasvegasadvisor.com\/shop\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/12\/Hard-Rock-Gary.png?resize=300%2C149&amp;ssl=1 300w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.lasvegasadvisor.com\/shop\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/12\/Hard-Rock-Gary.png?resize=768%2C382&amp;ssl=1 768w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.lasvegasadvisor.com\/shop\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/12\/Hard-Rock-Gary.png?resize=445%2C221&amp;ssl=1 445w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 980px) 100vw, 980px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n<p><strong>Also feeling a headwind<\/strong> was <strong>Indiana<\/strong>, which dipped 4%. The outstanding performer was little <strong>Rising Sun<\/strong>, jumping 12.5% to $3 million. The underperformer of the bunch was the casino that had the most to lose: <strong>Hard Rock Northern Indiana<\/strong> ($32 million, -13.5%). Nearby <strong>Horseshoe Hammond<\/strong> was absolutely flat with $19.5 million. Also in the vicinity were <strong>Ameristar East Chicago<\/strong> ($11 million, -9.5%) and <strong>Blue Chip <\/strong>($10 million, flat). Around<strong> Indianapoli<\/strong>s, secondary racino <strong>Harrah&#8217;s Hoosier Park<\/strong> ($18 million, 4.5%) outperformed <strong>Horseshoe Indianapolis<\/strong> ($22 million, -3%). <strong>Terre Haute Casino<\/strong> gained a point for $11 million, <strong>French Lick Resort<\/strong> slipped 4% to $6 million and tribal <strong>Caesars Southern Indiana<\/strong> remained an audience fave ($18.5 million, 3%). <strong>Belterra Resort <\/strong>tumbled 12% to $6 million, <strong>Bally&#8217;s Evansville<\/strong> slipped 7% to $13 million and <strong>Hollywood Lawrenceburg<\/strong> dropped 6.5% to $11 million.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In terms of Hoosier sports betting, $532 million in handle boiled down to $43 million of win. <strong>ESPN Bet<\/strong> was barely in the picture with $1 million and <strong>BetRivers<\/strong> totally out of it. <strong>FanDuel<\/strong> outdueled <strong>DraftKings<\/strong> $15 million to $10 million, while <strong>bet365<\/strong> and <strong>BetMGM<\/strong> each did $3 million, which left $2 million for <strong>Caesars Sportsbook<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image is-style-rounded\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"980\" height=\"653\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.lasvegasadvisor.com\/shop\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/Hollywood-Joliet.jpg?resize=980%2C653&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-892036\" srcset=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.lasvegasadvisor.com\/shop\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/Hollywood-Joliet.jpg?w=1000&amp;ssl=1 1000w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.lasvegasadvisor.com\/shop\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/Hollywood-Joliet.jpg?resize=300%2C200&amp;ssl=1 300w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.lasvegasadvisor.com\/shop\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/Hollywood-Joliet.jpg?resize=768%2C511&amp;ssl=1 768w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.lasvegasadvisor.com\/shop\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/Hollywood-Joliet.jpg?resize=445%2C296&amp;ssl=1 445w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 980px) 100vw, 980px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n<p><strong>New product drove<\/strong> the bus in<strong> Illinois<\/strong>, which was up 14% &#8230; or 1% on same-store basis (i.e., without newbies <strong>Wind Creek Southland<\/strong> or <strong>Fairmont Park<\/strong>). Although not technically a &#8220;new&#8221; casino from <strong>Wall Street<\/strong>&#8216;s POV, <strong>Hollywood Joliet<\/strong> continued to rejoice in its new environs (its old incarnation is shown above), rocketing 48% to $11 million. <strong>Harrah&#8217;s Joliet<\/strong> felt the pinch, to be sure, plunging 17% to $8 million. <strong>Hollywood Aurora<\/strong> suffered a bit too, off 3.5% to $8 million. Also experiencing a sting was <strong>Hard Rock Rockford<\/strong>, tumbling 13% to a surprising $12 million. Even <strong>Rivers Des Plaines<\/strong> dipped 1% to $43 million.  Dowager <strong>Grand Victoria<\/strong>, however, defied her age with a 14% jump to $11 million. <strong>Bally&#8217;s Casino<\/strong> downtown achieved a 7% improvement to $11 million whilst <strong>The Temporary at American Place<\/strong> was flat at $9.5 million. The big news was a 19.5% vault by <strong>Harrah&#8217;s North Kansas City<\/strong>, which achieved $15 million at the expense of its rivals. <strong>Ameristar Kansas City<\/strong> was still tops with $16 million but ceded 4.5%. <strong>Argosy Riverside<\/strong> dipped 3% ($12 million) and <strong>Bally&#8217;s Kansas City<\/strong> fell 8% ($10 million). Heavy bonusing was clearly the order of the day at <strong>Caesars Entertainment<\/strong>. Witness the 25.5% surge of <strong>Horseshoe St. Louis<\/strong> ($13 million). Even so, the former <strong>Lumiere Place<\/strong> stayed stuck in last place in <strong>St. Louis<\/strong> while <strong>Hollywood St. Louis<\/strong> gained 4% of its own ($21 million). <strong>Ameristar St. Charles<\/strong> remained #1 with $23 million (-1.5%) and <strong>River City<\/strong> gained too, up 5% to $21.5 million. Despite a sudden plunge of 28%, <strong>Margaritaville <\/strong>(can&#8217;t beat that brand) clung stubbornly to first place and $10 million. <strong>Bally&#8217;s Shreveport<\/strong> toppled 25.5% to $5.5 million and <strong>Sam&#8217;s Town<\/strong> lost 21.5% to $2.5 million. Also ravaged were <strong>Louisiana Downs<\/strong> ($2.5 million, -17%) and <strong>Boomtown Bossier<\/strong> ($3 million, -12%). Outlying <strong>Evangeline Downs<\/strong> was steady at $5.5 million.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Downriver in <strong>New Orleans<\/strong>, newness continued to work in favor of <strong>Caesars New Orleans<\/strong> ($19.5 million, 21%). No one was revenue-negative, not even <strong>Fair Grounds<\/strong> ($3 million, 3.5%).
