Always cover your bets. That’s the lesson Sacramento‘s Casino Royale card room learned after being caught twice with a shortage of cash. The California Department of Justice had no patience this time and shuttered the casino, seeking a permanent revocation of its license. That’s pretty rough luck for Casino Royale employees.

* It’s only interim but SugarHouse‘s new poker room looks impressive. And though it’s part of a $164 million expansion, most of that new capacity will be devoted to restaurants and convention space. The new-for-now poker room will have massage service, a mobile application that allows you to reserve a table and iPod and Android docking stations for players. Not bad for a temporary facility.
