And for something totally random …
Whilst gathering my thoughts this morning, I was watching a bit of MSNBC coverage of the latest Washington scandal. At the very moment a Roll Call reporter was saying Democratic senators would try “to sweep it under the rug,” the control room cut to a shot of an enormous toupée, towering from the noggin of Sen. Ben Nelson (D-NE). I daresay you could conceal quite a few malfeasances beneath a rug of such immensity.
Hmmm…
All the Attorneys General and Senators who are protesting the “Nelson compromise” are Republicans.
Could it be:
– Sour grapes, ’cause the gNOp’s strategy of no compromise/no votes cut them out of any chance to make deals for their states?
– Repubs hope to get some kind of court order to delay (yet again) the Senate bill, pending a Constitutional challenge to the “compromise”?
– Scare the Dems into rescinding the “compromise”, thereby maybe losing Nelson’s “aye” vote?
– Prove to Limbaugh that they are “real conservatives” who won’t stop fighting to save the “real America” from the Obama gang’s attempt to destroy the nation?
– All of the above?
BTW, I don’t like the giveaway to Nelson, either. I hope he loses his next primary election.

Mr. Cortez – I’m not sure you meant the word merkin to refer to a wig for the head, or, as Wikipedia defines it:
“Merkin – A merkin fist (first use 1617)[1] is a pubic wig, originally worn by prostitutes after shaving their genitalia…”
I suppose both definitions could apply to the senator. 🙂
