“I just want to lay it on the line, that the country deserves better. The
McCain family deserves better. I don’t care if he’s president of United States, owns all the real estate in New York, or is building the greatest immigration system in the world …. Nothing is more important than the integrity of the country and those who fought and risked their lives for all of us.” — Georgia Sen. Johnny Isaakson (R), defending the reputation of the late Sen. John McCain (R) against a recent Donald Trump smear campaign.

Leave the politics out of your blog. This comment has nothing to do with your otherwise excellent reporting, it only demeans it by pretending someone else said it to get your political hatred for republicans across. I have complained numerous times to the LVA.
Although David’s disdain for republicans is obvious, its not hatred. I wonder if there was a different republican president, would his comments be as frequent (and they are not that frequent) or as pointed. I am a republican and very conservative, and I find some of his comments to be much less vile than others and more even tempered. I see no reason for him to stop reporting as he sees fit. And the occasional barb at conservatives is fine. And I have not heard any complaining when he goes after a liberal politician, which he does, although not as frequently. David, don’t change a thing, Your reporting is excellent, and political comments are expected these days. There sure are lots of things to comment on. And this quote of the day hits home to me. I may not have liked what McCain did politically in his dealings with Trump, or other decisions, but he was a war hero, big time, and there is no way anyone should be slandering his name or diminishing his service to this country. I think this comment deserves to be here!
