I suppose if I were the leading politician of a state that is now a mixture of the Titanic, the Hindenburg, and Haiti on a bad day, not to mention the titular second-in-command of a party and an ideology that is currently about as popular with the American public as a full-pay video poker machine is with Harrah’s, well, I might see that as “really good”, too.
And just for what it’s worth, anyone wanting to quote something really stupid coming out of Reid’s mouth would only need to follow him around for five minutes, so this little gem isn’t exactly uncharacteristic.
