“It’s absolute death for this industry to keep acting as it has been. Both sides. We’re driving the bus straight off a cliff. How is this good for anyone involved? COVID-19 already presented a lose lose lose situation and we’ve somehow found a way to make it worse. Incredible.”—Cincinnati Reds player Trevor Bauer on the impasse between Major League Baseball and its rank and file.

Trevor Bauer is not someone I look to for anything, it breaks my heart that a fellow UCLA Bruin is such a donkey… This is a man who does not appreciate what the MLB Players Union has accomplished in their decades of fighting against powerful billionaire owners, he has made tens of millions himself, but he does not care a whit about the future earnings of future ballplayers. For him to say “Both Sides” in any context is just dishonest, he is 100% on the owners side for ostensibly self interest…The average public person thinks ballplayers are overpaid, and the billionaire owners exploit that sentiment as hard as they can, players like Bauer insure the most powerful entities will continue to hold sway over public opinion…
