We have obtained a memo on Boulder Station letterhead that reads, in part, “Yesterday [August 6] we learned that a majority of Culinary Team Members signed a petition saying they DO NOT wish to be represented by the Culinary Workers Union Local 226 and Bartenders Union Local 165 any longer. We have informed the Union that, in accordance with our Team Members’ wishes, we will no longer recognize or bargain with the Union. We respect the decision of our Team Members and we certainly appreciate the confidence the Team Members have shown us. We look forward to having the same direct relationships with this group of Team Members as we have had with other Team Members.” The letter is signed by General Manager Alan Trantina. What the Culinary Union did to merit this kick in the pants from its constituents is unclear but something severe would appear to be in order.

The college football “debate” going on is like Groundhog Day, once again a bunch of non-public health yellers are drowning out actual public health doctors and experts… Michigan coach Harbaugh is touting his teams very impressive practice record of no positive tests for the virus in the last several hundred tests. That’s nice work coach. But practice is not games, games require travel, team meals, and intense face to face competition. Last night on the Big Ten network they had a fella on who parroted the ridiculous “arguments” currently being espoused by non-public health stakeholders trying to get you to send your children to school to catch the virus. Our society had degraded into a disgusting place where professional voices are drowned out by charlatans with personal economic interests that they want to push over the health of your families. Nothing is more important than your health and that of your loved ones, I love football, but I love the athletes and their health and prosperity way more, I will listen only to experts…
