I’m surprised that a FOX station would so blatantly “correct the record” on a story about a conservativerepublican (sic) Senatorial candidate.
Fox 5 must be an affiliate; if they were owned by Fox, they probably would have got an immediate call from one of Rupert Murdoch’s minions.
In any case, look for Sharron’s latest lie/misstatement to be featured in an upcoming Reid ad – and not in a kindly way.
Save Harry-Nevada has gotten SO much better in the 4 years he has been Senate Majority Leader.
Mike, I suspect that depends on whether you talk to the guys in the suites (who lurve Harry) or the ones on the street (who feel a bit differently).
Kerr, a few observations: A) John Huck is one of the few anchors in town who’d be sufficiently astute to spot those mistakes; B) KVVU is pretty good at holding politicians’ feet to the fire; C) I doubt the “CityCenter bailout” will generate much traction. It’s too inside baseball.
S&G readers love this stuff but the dreaded MSM would probably botch the story (talk radio would make an even worse hash of it) and it tends to take a snooty attitude toward casinos anyway. Angle clearly doesn’t know bupkes about the casino industry but, in media circles, she’s far from alone in that regard.
It seems the scapegoaters have gone all-in against Harry Reid. He has been a Nevada Senator through good and bad times. I seem to remember a booming Las Vegas not too long ago… I highly doubt Harry Reid is responsible for the over building of hotel rooms in Las Vegas. Are people so craven and out for Harry’s head that they forget the good times? If you are going to hold him accountable for the economic demise, it does make sense to laud him for the remarkable growth.
