I searched & searched the site, and finally found it, with the help of Google and my “find” button:
Hotel Services & Amenities:
* Hairdryer in all rooms
* Jacuzzi
* Laundry Facility
* Outdoor Pool
* Refrigerator and Sofabeds available in Suite rooms
* Pets Allowed – 50.00 USD Per Stay
* Rollaway Bed – 15.00 USD
* Local Casino Amenity Fee – 4.95 USD Per Room Per Night
What the heck kind of “service” or “amenity” is this?
I guess if they were charging $15, it would be a “deluxe amenity”?
Perhaps you are paying for the privilege of playing in Wild Wild West’s undoubtedly palatial casino, thereby sparing you the burden of traipsing over to those grind joints on the Strip. That’s Station for you, always looking out for the little guy.
I used to stop by the King 8 (the previous owner) occasionally when I sold printing for American Printing back in the 1990’s. I remember seeing the outdoor pool and a small grill that was built into the cement. I thought these grills built into the ground were only at campsites but I guess the King 8 put one of these in at their outdoor pool so guests could use it.
David,
Maybe I missed it, but are the now-deserted properties that Station bought part of this particular bankruptcy scam?
In any case, if the Fertittas hold onto the land & houses, do you suppose that they would charge potential buyers a “convenience fee” of $250 to look at the boarded-up structures?
“The neighborhood that had to die
Station Casinos bought up the neighborhood around Palace Station for a planned expansion. It never happened. The result: a ghost town”
