Today, Circus Circus opened The Chuck Jones Experience, an interactive museum devoted to Jones and the veritable cosmos of characters to which his pencil gave life. Put it at the top of your “must-see” list the next time you come to Vegas.

There’s an irony here: Chuck Jones’ last regular major theatrical animation work was at M-G-M, producing Tom & Jerry shorts, the Grinch, and The Phantom Tollbooth; the animation department at M-G-M was shut down in 1970 when Kirk Kerkorian bought the studio and began gutting it to funnel resources and money into building the first MGM Grand Hotel … forerunner to MRI, which of course owns Circus Circus.
