Quote of the Day

“To me, the American Dream today seems like nothing more than sitting back and being entertained.” — Neil Armstrong (1930-2012), war hero, test pilot, astronaut and first man to set foot on the Moon, quoted in 2007. No less a chronicler of events than Norman Mailer described the serene Armstrong as “apparently in communion with some string in the universe others did not think to unravel.” For those of us who saw the Moon landing as it happened, a not-so-small part of ourselves died last weekend.
