Reports Global Gaming Business, “The property also purchased electrostatic sprayers and misters to aid in cleansing the air, and since Ocean is the newest ground-up building on the [Atlantic City] Boardwalk, it already had a superior air filtration system.” Adds Glebocki, “The building was built for social distancing, so space is not our enemy here; it’s our friend.” Even so, food trucks are In, restaurants momentarily Out. In, spas, Out, live entertainment. Bart Blatstein‘s newly proposed water park has Glebocki’s enthusiastic thumbs-up: “I think any new amenities that are added to this North Beach section are fabulous. We encourage all of it, and I think we all work well together.” But the bottom line is “I am just thrilled that we have a date. That was the important thing. We needed a date.” Now they have it.
Jottings: Add Blue Man Group to the casualties of the Cirque du Soleil bankruptcy. The mute musicians have been laid off by CdS. The latter said it would reopen Blue Man ‘when government guidelines allow it’ … That’s nothing compared to the 3,000 Encore Boston Harbor employees who just got their walking papers. Encore hopes to reopen July 6 … Rarely do you see a gaming analyst put a “sell” order on a casino stock but that’s what Deutsche Bank‘s Carlo Santarelli did to Penn National Gaming, although he did not explain his unease. He advised standing pat on MGM Resorts International and Scientific Games, and buying virtually everything else. He’s also still a believer in The Drew, baking its 3,719 rooms into his 2022 Las Vegas inventory … Shame on American Airlines for selling flights to capacity again, turning its planes into giant Covid petri dishes … In Texas, they’re holding protests at the state capitol and governor’s mansion. Why? Because they can’t go to bars. We have become a nation of pussies … Can they live without minor-league baseball, which was just canceled? Will there be rioting in Summerlin when the Las Vegas Aviators fail to take the field?

Ocean Casino & AC: We expect to be at Ocean’s opening tomorrow. It’s one of the few casinos that you don’t have to get into a self park garage (people capsule) elevator to get to the casino level, provided you can find a space on the 6th floor of their garage. – Avoid AC – on Sat 7/4 as a protest is planned “to shut the city down” (according to AC Press yesterday). The organizer is the same person who was heard on audio 5/31 encouraging protesters to “do some window shopping”. The Tanger Outlet (tourist) Mall was destroyed.
Probably headed to the Ocean tonight. It has really created a nice niche in the market. Hopefully it can gain back its pre-covid stride!
